. Gonna get the kart boy rear block thing.

Be careful with these Cam and I had a bad time putting the one in his GT30.

I went OEm replacement for mine after that experience

Only time ill be doing kartboy is when i have the box out and easy access

Rear shifter bushing?

I did one (dont remember the brand) in the gen3...and put a cobb one (much better quality) in the RS, both with the box in and they were both stupid easy?

I swapped the shifter and front bushing at the same time, so i took the whole shifter stay out.....which is only and extra ten fiddly minutes

Aslong as you are careful putting the bolts in and dont crossthread them that is ;)

Personally I'd go for a pink Posca.

Annnnd an inner rack seal has gone. Causing the boot to fill with oil. So that was fun while it lasted. Time to find another 2.7 rack I guess.

Rebuild looks way too hard considering I don't know exactly what parts to get and if it will even fix the problem.

I didn't bother with a rebuild on the stock one I had, I took the chance for an upgrade to a ver 5 2.7, but by the sounds of it you had one already?

Had a look on ebay? There were a few earlier this month that I found

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Yeah put it in 2 weeks ago! Thats the luck of the draw with 2nd hand parts though!

Not really sure what I'm looking for on ebay to be honest. Wob tells me that only GC racks fit. I'm gonna pop into ichiban on my way home from work tomorrow and see what they have. A 2.4 rack is tempting, but so much coin!

Oh only just bought it, robbed, I'd be sending them a message (whoever you bought it from) and kicking up a stink.

I paid $200 for mine and when it went in I had to replace a rack end which was annoying. But not leaking luckily.

The 2.4 would be awesome, but $500-$700 for a steering rack is a fair bit haha

Might be worth paying a bit extra from ichiben, at least they well look after you

Bought it privately. They weren't to know. :) no hard feelings there. Shit happens sometimes!

Have had a pretty good run since owning it so I guess I shouldn't be too annoyed. I'm not gonna lie I was trawling carsales earlier :P

I might be interested in the busted 2.7 rack if you're not going to rebuild it. Does it still have the part number on it? If so, we can find which seals you need for a rebuild. (rebuild guide here http://bbs.legacycen...hp?f=6&t=45717)

I'll upload a pic of the rack tonight, Andrew :)

Mark, I'd happily buy the gen 3. If it was in my budget :P

If it's a 2.7 turn it'll likely be an FE200, FE230, FE240, or FE510.
I'd rather help you fix it than buy it :)
