He bought it off me...and no he was not "robbed"...big difference between selling a known faulty item and selling an item removed in perfect working order and it failing laterOh only just bought it, robbed, I'd be sending them a message (whoever you bought it from) and kicking up a stink.
No way in hell would i sell anything known to be faulty, but thanks for your input
Yep it sucks...and if anyone knows me...or anyone on this forum for that matter then theyd know that any help that can be given will be given

In that case probably not worth rebuilding it, it's a 16.5:1 ratio (reference: http://www.sti.jp/typeM/data_spec.html). You can pick up a GD/GG AUDM WRX cheap that is a 16:1 linear rack. Its was removed from an SF STi forester
Bummer that it shat itself. I had a wheel bearing start grinding this morning, anything that throws out the wheel alignment is super frustrating to have to replace unexpectedly

If anyone has the JDM version of Subaru Fast software they can look up this TypeM chassis code and get the parts details: SF5-166429 I used to have it years ago, but it was inside a virtual machine that got corrupted.

Its was removed from an SF STi forester brought in by Ichiban Adam.....this sucks mate, it was working perfectly when removed off the RS

Sorry mate, I had it in my mind that he bought it from a second hand parts dealer, wasn't intending to insult any members on here at all, or their reputations.
Just luck of the draw I suppose being an inner seal.
Hopefully he can get it sorted without to much hassle and everyone will win

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

That forking Matt cubt selling dodgy parts again....haha.
How has this car not burnt yet? Are you lighting the matches right?
I've been looking at getting an older wagon, something fun to replace the Forester, might get someone else to buy it and swap them for a bit.

Got a wheel alignment today. Replaced a weeping radiator and changed the oil.
Just needs a wash and a clean on the inside and I will be ready for the Thredbo trip

Feels good to have it back. Got sick of dailying the mini!

Yeah Matt doesn't do dodgy parts.
As Adam said, luck of the draw.
Also, have you tried fixing it by driving it into a bonfire?
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.

You're really starting to rack up these steering components...

GOD DAMN. I could have said "I spent a month racking my brain on what to do"
Hehe.
Rack.
Andrew. I was going to try pass them on at a discounted price.

Cool. I might be keen on either, though obv Matt's old one needs way more work than the one with a broken inlet. Yay more broken things in the todo pile haha.
So most importantly, does it steer good now that you finally have the rack you've been working so hard to get your hands on?
(hands on rack)
