No name brand ram... No thank you. Buy something good like Kingston or Corsair. You will regret getting the cheap shitty stuff.

Would you buy a no name car, Adam?

I would, but purely for the mystery it would involve.

BECAUSE RENDOG.

Ren this is why your computer cost as much as Americas debt.

Adam; if you just want cheap ram it will be fine. If you want reliable ram then look at Kingston.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Quality is something that is overlooked so often. No name brand ram normally has no warranty and is usually the cast offs of larger companies such as kingston etc, So you end up with a product that they have tested and deemed to be rubbish.

I have Kingston ram. I thought it sounded regal, so I bought it.

If ram fails does that mean you lose... wait for it.... 'data'?

Serious question by the way.

Oi Jugglehead. What kind of laptop is it?

@ Nik, its an iMac. for some reason they use laptop ram. Dicks.

@Rendog, that ram has a lifetime warranty

@ams, what would make ram unreliable?

p.s. Kingston is like 2x the price!

I have corsair :D it is good. I am a fan of kingston though.

Same goes for PSU, don't buy shit brands... you will pay for it later when it either toasts half your shiz or just fucks out on it's own.

You loose whatever was in your ram at the time. But being ram, whenever it looses power, it looses "data".

I have a Corsair AX-850, 7 year warranty and gold efficiency rating. If it gets knocked by a surge, i get a replacement B)

@ams, what would make ram unreliable?

Poor quality componentry, poor QA. Just doesn't function as it should.

No.

However a side effect of dodgy ram is your computer crashes while doing shit. If you have a file open and comp crashes then you run the risk of corruption.

So, no but possible.

Because rendog.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Dude, I can barely use a calculator, why would you ever in your life think I was making a sarcastic nerd comment?

@Ren: I'm sorry, but that's just loose.

Seriously though, 'saved' files - do you LOSE them? If not, who gives a flying flamingo's frog spawn?

Typo, lay off.

You potentially can in the right circumstances, Corruption in the ram can corrupt the data. A BSOD at the wrong time can cause data corruption. Open a document, when its in the ram it becomes damaged, save document, data now corrupted. It in some cases can cause the mbr to get damaged, then no boot for you.

Ah ok gotcha!

Typo, lay off.

Typing the same word incorrectly three times consecutively would appear to not be a typo.

Sorry, I was bullied a lot at school.
