Yeah, these are the sorts of things that some employers have to deal with though.... It is like Russian roulette, you never know what you can end up with. The worst is that they started off fine, made good employees than just lost it....

I am sure Nik has some stories that would make people cringe, he may not want to tell them though :D.

Chef argues about pay rate. I actually pay one level above pay rate. Went to fair work. Nice one dickhead, got told he was already being overpaid, and we could possibly be entitled to backpay.

Chef doesn't like me being in the kitchen, doesn't need someone 'over his shoulder' - serves sour cream instead of marscapone. "There's no difference". C'mon son.

Chef couldn't make it to work today, so I have to do breakfast service on my day off. After that? Thought I'd check out a new spot that had just opened up. Guess who was working the pass? No shit. Hey Chef!

For all the bad, there's a lot of good, but in Australia... the service industry is a joke. People treat hospitality as something you do while you're on your way to something better. Something amazing. Make this amazing. Make the service and hospitality industries of Australia amazing, something to be proud of. People earn in a day what is paid in an HOUR in Australia.
