I think the KE70 posted the fastest time believe it or not.

Tim and other camera people. I was looking to upgrade to a Sony VG900, and a few other choices, but Canon released the 70D today.

$1200 for body is pretty damn cheap. Pretty awesome features.

"Alongside beautiful stills, the EOS 70D allows photographers to create high-quality movies with ease. Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution video can be captured with a choice of selectable frame rates, including 30, 25 or 24fps, and 60 and 50fps at 720p, and a range of compression options for postediting and sharing.
Thanks to new Dual Pixel CMOS AF, Movie Servo AF mode tracks subjects as they move, or even as shots are recomposed, ensuring they are always in focus. Alternatively, users can select different focus areas over 80 per cent of the frameii simply by tapping the touch-screen, even when recording – ensuring that movies stay sharp and clear if a subject moves or the user changes the composition of a shot."

That is awesome. I'd be interested to see how well it works. That would allow low aperture videos that stay in focus.

I know, right?

Touch screen focus point is pretty cool too.

So I've got one of these on the way now. One of the things I noticed from the Hunter Cruise was that my out of the window footage was shakey, and no amount of Warp Stabilizer could fix it unfortunately.

Also, what do you chaps recommend for nighttime lighting? One of those LED jobbies?

Hey Tim, thoughts on XF300 vs XF100?

Hmm apart from the fact that XF300 is double the price of the XF100!!

XF300 has:

- 3 sensors

- 3 ND filters which are a godsend when you're filming outdoors!

Not sure about the MXF file format. Are you using Final Cut? If so, check that you can just drop the files in without having to convert the files beforehand, because that's a right royal pain in the ass if you do!

Premier and After Effects. I thought the 300 used AVCHD format?

Adobe should be alright with it but Final Cut can be pretty finicky at times.

In the specs under file format it says MXF File Wrapper.

Thats epic Tim, but at $15k, they certainly aren't cheap!!!!

They do the M5 version that is $5k, but still lots of coin for it.

I just thought I'd throw this in here whilst the sale is still on; only four ours to go! GoPro HERO3+ and accessories (which I assume would fit the HERO3 as well) at bargain prices.

Any recommendations for ND Filter brands?

I've only heard someone recommend the Schneider Black Glass, but no other ones. Is an eBay cheapy going to do the job any differently to more expensive one?

If it's a cheap lens, an eBay filter won't make much of a different. If it's an expensive lens and you're looking for every last tenth, pay the extra for a B+W or something like that.

The more stops you go, the better quality the ND filter you should get.
