Hi,

Everyone's needs are always a bit different. I went from Foz -> B4 -> IV.OBK. Mainly because I missed the wagon practicality.

Also, while the H6 doesn't have 'bboooooossst' - it doesn't make you feel like you're driving a super slow car, overtaking is a breeze, and the kickback from 80-120 is still enthusiastic enough to give a bit of a smile.

Cheers,
Nik

I'd like to feel the boost hit me like a shot of NOS in the movies... but never going to happen... especially in a B4... Oh well...

@Walts, the seats don't fold down because that would reduce the rigidity of the car...

...because racecar :P

If that was true... then my 1999 CE Lancer Sedan was a racecar too... rear seats didn't fold down there either... LOL!

Thanks guys. i think the overwhelming winner is the Gen 4...
makes sense from a logistics and dollar standpoint...
i really do like the way the TT drives... great torque and then the kick of the secondary.

what is the drive like on a Gen 4? good power? what about Lag etc etc... also, H6's... how do they feel in comparison to the GT? the numbers are similar, but it would drive differently i'm sure...

what about lifetime... how long would one last ( i know its subjective) but to an extent what are some of your thoughts...

cheers for the info guys... i will miss the TT but i got a few months yet!

oh and by the way.. i'm working hard to get the mrs to upgrade from her mazda 3 to an 2009 XT foz...

the upgrading thing was her idea!!! :P

EZ30R engines are tits. Only thing i've seen go wrong with them is timing chain slap on a cold start (Nothing to worry about) and leaky oil filter housings ($5 o-ring from subaru)

Still reckon you should buy a forester ;)

Gen4 3.0R-B wagon. ;)

The H6 is awesome. So easy to drive around. Plenty of power on tap all the time. 6sp manual is fantastic.

The space in the wagon is massive especially with the seats down.

My misses has an sh9 forester. It's a great car but the boot space is definitely lacking. But rear leg room is better then my gen4

I'd definitely go for the Gen IV. I own a 3.0 SpecB wagon and have loved every single second spent in it. It is practical, gives you all the storage space you need and drives better then any car I've owned before. You do notice the power it gives even for a NA. It was many of the members here at SubyClub that told me to go for the wagon; something I don't regret at all.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

I think this debate is much one sided, but sometimes that's a good thing... The 3.0r is looking the goods, and as it turns out a mate of mine is picking up a 2006 blitzen! Lucky prick! So will have a good go of that for the h6 test...

On a side note... And it is a bit random. A guy has a 2004 gt wagon for 9k, it does has 255k on it... However has log books for servicing every 5k as it was a company car and did highway km from the south west (mdsc territory) to Perth... Haven't seen it in the flesh, but thinking if I offer him 7k ish, with the approach of knowing suby's and pointing out that I'd need new shocks, gearbox service, turbo would need an overhaul, would I be far off the mark?

I would be very concerned about any 04 GT you can pick up for 7k (even 9k for that matter) regardless of those kms

What would you be concerned about, specifically... It's come down from 12k... I'd day it's priced so cheap as its a company car and the seller is morivated... No attachment...
