it may be limp mode...but im still in the process of cleaning out vacumm hoses and solenoids etc..t
boost will return to normal after a while...for example I left the city last weekend at night.. 15 degrees temp iirc.. My boost was limited to 0.5 bar.. cruised down the m5 motorway for 15 mins, started an overtake and it was boosting back to 0.9 to 1.0 bar again. Or 14ish psi...
very weird...its just not hot weather. Ive had my boost problems in winter...

Thanks for the advice guys...
Yeah I drove today... 33 degrees out west today, and wasn't boosting past 6psi for a while... then bam... 11psi, so I'm happy... back to normal without resetting the ecu...
Will just take it easy when it is hot... I don't have to race at every set of lights... do I?

Hey guys, quick question here...
The B4 comes stock with a factory amp under the passenger seat, right? Can I just swap out that amp for something better, or is there more work to it than just a simple swap out, using all the existing wiring?
And the speakers in the doors are 6 or 6.5 inch?

6" on the fronts mate not sure of rears. They can't be any deeper than 2 inches or they will foul on the window components.
Not sure on the amp but I would think you would be able to. It's connected to the head unit by one of those circle plug cables (Don't know what they're called)

Thanks Boss... yeah looking at getting some 6" mid bass speakers for the fronts... and if the amp can be swapped, that will be good, so will check it out sometime...

The stock amp will drive a set of new speakers pretty well, if you aren't looking to replace the whole system or get crazy. I swapped my blown drivers side with a new pair of Clarion 55w Components. I didn't bother changing my stock tweeters, or finishing the install and doing the rears (kept them in the box for later). And it sounds great. The stock speaker is a pretty neat 40w unit. If you get similar sized speakers you can mount them in the stock speaker spacers, and use the loom with a bit of solder. All I did was put some thin seal rubber I had lying around between the speaker and mount to stop rattles, and screwed it to the spacer with the 2 points that lined up firmly. No rattles, moar sounds, simple/clean install. White foamy door seal entirely optional, was trying to reduce trim rattle lol.
Have attached some photos of my install.

Thanks mate... yeah was told by a friend to get 6" mid bass speakers for the front doors and they should be good enough... But thought if I was doing that, might as well replace the deck(currently aftermarket JVC) and the stock amp too... but if not necessary to change the amp, then thats cool... I just get almost no bass now... so not fun...
Would love to stop door rattles too, like when closing the door when window is down... just sounds like everything is banging together when I slam the door closed... wish it had a nice thud... lol

The rattle when the window is down is nasty lol, its the arm for the window etc rattling around.
Yeah if you are going to replace the headunit you may need to change the amp? Not sure on installing a new headunit with the stock amp tbh, as I think it uses a loom, rather than usual amp wiring. I just keep an old ipod in the glovebox with an FM transmitter for when I want my own tunes. These speakers added more bass not doof doof, but enough. I am not a fan of over the top bass anyway - trim rattles enough already. Personal preference though, I know some people love it. Maybe I am getting old lol.

Ha true... well I already have an aftermarket deck in there now... some JVC one... but the radio doesn't work because I guess they couldn't connect the aerial up... the previous owner that is... so I'm looking to change it sometime and maybe get the aerial to work again... will have to take a good look at the current setup sometime... never know... the stock amp may not even be connected to the headunit now...
Thanks for the advice bro

Nope.. haven't pulled the center console out before... was going to do it on the weekend, but did the spats instead... so not this weekend, maybe next weekend I'll check out what is happening in the back back there and take some pics maybe, if I don't know what is going on...

Zac - If you have lost all your bass, check your speaker wiring. Chances are you have switched the positive and negative on one speaker (or if you have almost no bass, possibly 2) - so as 3 speakers push, the other pulls, lessening the bass strength.
Also, the amp is under the drivers seat. If you have a box under the passenger seat, its a 6 stacker.
Cheers,
Ben
