I connect the multi meter to the battery, +12v

Move positive probe back into coolant, -0.03v

I don't understand?

Any more then 0.05 is bad.

Less is ok and a pass in any workshop.

You can always earth the radiator and see what that does. ;)

Try turning the probes around. It should say 0.03 instead of -0.03

I'm looking at getting a koyo radiator for my 3Gen B4 auto. I found a few in Japan and was wondering are all BE5 radiators the same?
The only info I can get us it's for a BE5 AT.

Auto just has transmission cooler connections at the bottom of the tank.

Anyway, on the header tank there's the bleeder hose and overflow hose. What's the other hose for? It seems to go down to the secondary turbo and across the intake manifold to somewhere...

I pressed the small section of rubber hose at the T connector and it's not under pressure? ie I can squeeze the hose unlike the top and radiator hoses at normal operating temp.

Probably part of the convection cooling circuit of the turbos (so a turbo timer is not required - it allows coolant to continue to flow around the turbos when the engine is hot and turned off).

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

I am a B4 owner from brisbane. Yesterday my car radiator gave up working and now I am going to replace the radiator by myself. I have read one of your post seems like u had this done 2 years ago. Do I need to take the front bumper off in order to get access to the radiator? what I need to aware?

Thx heaps for your help  :)

No bumper removal mate.

Unplug the fans (1 plug each), undo the clamps on the hoses (top & bottom), undo the top bracket bolts, remove the two smaller return hoses, remove your air pick up scoop (if you have one)  and....

Lift it up and out.

Done  ;)

It would be wise to get a new thermostat and seal while you have the rad out. They're cheap as chips and easy to change..... peace of mind  ;)

Whitekong blew a gearbox and the motor was old, parted it out mate.  Not really the sort of car you could just sell and be done with it, quirky if you know what I mean.

I used a fair bit of it for my latest B4, Hobokong.

My radiator also recently ended up with a leak up top so went for a full replacement and also a new thermostat whilst it was out...
