Josh, I spend about $150/200 week on food for Elna and I (All healthy fresh shit), about $50/month on grog.

I'm sure you can do what you want to do.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

I think it is doable Josh... you are lucky in the sense you don't have a family or anything... because my grocery bill for a month is between 800-1000 because of baby and Megan is a vego, likes her organics...

You also don't have to worry about utility bills and stuff, so that does make it easier for you...

If you bank has a saver option, it can automatically transfer money into your saver's account without you needed to do it, which makes it easier to save I think

Yeah I set automatic deductions for savings.

Josh, is that spread sheet adaptable for anyone? I'd like to do something like that.

Dad was gonna set me up a xero account thing. But I wouldn't use it!

Haha I was being serious! Maybe $550 is more than I need then? This includes all food, even if I buy lunch from a takeaway place etc, and regular stuff for the house too like cleaning products (Guess I should have called that one Groceries)

$200 a month I wouldn't say is really that much, that is $50 a week.. which is like a 6 pack of something nice and a few special beers which are usually like $8-$10 each..

Yeah - I kind of feel embarrassed when I see in money tracker what I spent on it last month.

Wow $200 a month on grog.

I can't actually remember the last 6 pack I bought. 2/3 of it would still be sitting in the fridge haha.

Haha yeah if i go out with some mates its pretty easy to spend $200 in a night once you buy drinks, some late night dirty food, entry for a club or two and a taxi

Dude it really depends on what you want. Those amounts are easily achievable. You could probably halve or even quarter them if you really had to. But it's really up to how much you want to sacrifice! Our groceries would probably be about $75 a week and that's being real right and includes my lunches at work.

Josh, open a new bank account, and transfer uneven account balances to there.

You'd be surprised how well it works.

I just worked out. If I travelled half the distance to work, I could afford to take a $4/hr pay cut! That's forking nuts. I spend $150 a week to get to work.

I know this seems like a bandwagon i'm on, but have you considered a botormike?

$18 to fill the tank, gets me about 400km plus I get to sleep in an extra 20 mins each day plus I get to park right outside the front door of work (maybe not an issue for you?) cheaper to insure, cheaper to buy (GOOD couple of year old bike might run you $3-4k).

PLUS - when you go for a ride on weekends there is noone in the passenger seat telling you about their day - WIN/WIN!

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

What about maintenance costs? It would cost me 5k + to get started.

Plus I'd probably run myself into something pretty quick. I don't have enough self control!

*you're

I drive when it's going to PISS rain down, otherwise most jackets are water resistant and I haven't had any problems yet.

Most bikes have 5,000km service intervals which is drop oil, lube chain etc which is simple to do yourself.

I'll talk to you about it at MDSC Yadam.

One issue would be in Summer when an afternoon storms pops out of no where and drenches your shit with little warning..... So you wouldn't know to drive that day until it was too late.

Tyres wear out quickly, No? Dads rear tyre always seems to be needing replacement! I guess I could just get a harder compound.

I think I'd get is of it though. Most of my travel is on the highway so in a car I'm on cruise and relax! On a bike, I imagine if you relax, you die.
