I learnt to WELD this arvo/evening! woot!!!
Gasless MIG only at this stage, but I got good penetration and a nice even look to the bead. I'm stoked.

Evening Pete, I think you will find that shielded MIG with argon or the weld mix might produce a better weld. (i think)

I used penetration as I just wanted to see the results You guys made me proud 
Argon shielding is more about keeping the oxidization off the weld and also makes about a billion times LESS splatter. I spent half my time wire brushing and flappy paddling things back to metal. The gas in on the way, but plenty i can muck around with gasless.
