Hi,

They aren't raising revenue. Every last cent goes back into the traffic system.

Go to Egypt, then come back and tell me we aren't free.

Cheers,

Nik

Thank fork someone said it.
Australia might be a bit of a nanny state but we are far from being oppressed.

sorry wrong choice of words... Should have said Australia is becoming more n more of a nanny state every day

Im not going to argue but If every last cent goes into the traffic system why are our road not being fixed? why is there no driver education system in place? Driver training incentives?

Hi,

In QLD they are already implementing all those things. Road quality and maintenance in QLD is apparently on the up. A huge amount of the money, plus more, was and still is needed to repair roads due to damaging conditions.

In NSW it's all Josh's fault.

We could argue the misuse of funds, I don't disagree that driver training subsidies etc. would be good for everyone - but that is just smoking away from what's actually happening here. People are breaking the law. They get caught. Then they whinge.

It's like he's saying, if these guys got pulled over just driving down the street and defected, that's OK. But because they are congregating... the cops are arseholes?

Cheers,

Nik

Hi,

I don't understand the question.

Did they defect it?

If it was further down the line of a list of defected cars, and people having a massive bitch and moan, it wouldn't surprise me if their attitude fell south of the friendly equator.

Cheers,

Nik

It is my fault :P

Though I will say, there is a lot more work being done on the roads in NSW as of the last few months, it will take a long time to get this shit fixed.

One of the worst roads in my area was just recently torn up and a nice new surface smashed down :D it is awesome.

If the roadworthy laws where updated then this wouldn't be a problem.. I think this is the real problem here.

In that whole video i didnt see one dangerous car.. they all looked to be very well maintained.

When has a low or loud car ever ever been dangerous.. This is the problem.

Not sure if it was or not... My point is they are targeting a specific crowd of modified vehicles... What about all the stock cars that drive around with bald tyres blowing smoke full of rust and oil leaks?

This only gets done when there is an election nearing  :walts:

And my point is, if they have a party for people driving boongers with bald tyres and oil leaks, the cops will be there too.

Money goes back into Fixing and restoring our roads. I doubt it. Have you seem the roads around the hunter and Newcastle they are terrible. It took more then a decade for the Branxton bypass to start.

For a region that pays a lot of tax, through mining and the likes, the hunter region see's hardly any of the money go back into th hunter roads. But yet, come election time Sydent will get x amount of billions of dollars spent building 2ks of road.

As for politicians having nothing to do with police Blitz's, they are a huge factor. Especially when Tracy Grimshaw and her cronies put the pressure on them, all because one young dickhead killed himself hooning off his face and they want and easy story.

Even ACA and TT 's attempts to hear the motor enthusiasts side of the story have been far from fair or accurate

End of huge rant.

You run illegal/unroadworthy mods, you run the risk of getting defected. Its simple.

Id say almost every car on here fails in at least one aspect of illegal mods even if its as simple as tint too dark or wrong load rated tires.

My car -

Tint too dark on front windows (20%)

Exhaust too loud (just)

Too low (just)

Under load rated tires (Outback spec 95 required, 215/45/17 87 fitted)

3mm front spacers (hubcentric, single pcd)

5000k low beam globes

Its fastidiously maintained but still technically unroadworthy even though all small items. Its the risk we run. Live and deal with it dont complain about it.

Accentuated by the fact it comes from the most fastidious and thorough modifier of auto mobiles I've ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with.

Still deflects from the fact that even if you have a bone stock car you are going to be targeted by the police if you attend events like this for no other reason then you are there too enjoy everything about cars. This is what I think gets to people the most.
