Hey guys.

Thinking of fitting a adjustable 3 inch oval onto my 3 inch exhaust add the current muffler is way to loud. How effective are these mufflers ? Under legal limits ? Better options ?

I have a Varex muff & remotes etc I'm considering selling for what I paid S/H.

I was going to fit it as a mid pipe muff but its quite unlikely to fit in that location ;(

Hitech will fix that ;)

Nice and quiet around town but has plenty of roars when you mash the loud foot

If you get caught with a varex, You will be sent straight to a EPA inspection.

Don't do it.

Not only that, but I have heard of several people having the butterfly valve in them rust out and snap. Pretty much the reason why I didnt get one.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

i dont see the issues with a varex just dont boot itvwhile its closeed but to be honest a varex would be the least of your issues should you get pinned.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

It looks very stock from the outside.. the only reason ill get pulled over is it being too loud..

numbers mean nothing dude.....any change realistically needs engineering...ie emmisions etc....exposed pod, fmic, aftermarket exhaust, non stock cat etc etc etc
