In that case, yes youre right. 76.6 is the technical number. 76 will get you there though. Ok so youre probably really sparging with 74ish liquor? Thats all good. But i reckon your diluted wort has a lot to do with the way your sparge water filters through your mash. You could try fix it, or just accept you arent going to get great efficiency out if your brewery, and make your grist up accordingly. When you sort your recipe do you use a brewhouse efficiency in your malt calcs?

Hmmm true! I have no idea what the efficiency would be of mine (obviously not high haha) but I have a feeling that the original recipe might have calculated based on 70%...... hmmm....... Yeah I don't know how to go about fixing it.. yeah might just have to add a bit extra to the mash in.
