Car looked and sounded great, sam :)

+ 100K

I love the sound this car makes.

It's always a great drive home with you Sam, it's a pity you have to pull off and leave us Mexicans.

+1 again

best part of the drive home was the flying passes of this car. Had us all envious on the UHF's

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

I'll be grabbing a better UHF for next year, couldn't hear much on mine, probably only has a 20m range being a cheapo.

Engine bay bits have been given some needed love, sanded back the radiator supports, battery clamp, bonnet holder, grille and others and gave them a coat of Satin Black. Also cleaned out some rust that was lurking under them. Plenty more to do after HVC.

Haven't been posting much lately, but I thought I'd better post an update with the plans for 2016 onwards!

I've been collecting parts and doing research for the better half of 6 months for some big upgrades, the plan is for a boosted H6, and everything else needed to support- for hopefully a reliable car that makes solid power.

First off, I sourced a ez30 short block, with the current plan having the block doweled at Deshele. With that, the stock pistons and rods will be going in the bin as they would struggle with anything above 5psi. I picked up some CP pistons and K1 rods from somebody else’s build that didn't go ahead. The stock head bolts are 10mm, so they will need to be resized to 10.5mm (if the thread can be cleaned up, off the shelf studs are available for the 30R). For the heads, supertech springs and retainers would replace the stock setup as it will struggle with valve float at any reasonable power. After this it'll be onto all the good (but complicated) stuff.

Stock rods vs K1

Also sourced was an 04 STI transmission with DCCD for skids. The plan is to run this with the universal(auto) dccdpro controller and retain the factory STI centre diff/manual buttons for the factory look.

Unfortunately the switches from the STI are larger than Gen 3 switches, so they don't fit anywhere.

Thinking on where to place them, I decided to hack into the coin holder above the cup holder. This would be ideal as mounting the dccdpro controller will probably happen somewhere near the arm rest.

What I started with:

Factory! Just needs the bumps sanded down more and some paint as It's got a few scratches.

I'll keep updating this as I source bits, but it may not be that often as lots of parts are coming from overseas and I'm not in too much of a rush.

6 speed and boost all in one post. I'm done.

Nice mate this is very cool indeed.

Switch install is super tidy!

Once it's all done, should set it back to stock height + rims for maximum lols at traffic light grand prix.
I'll be keeping a close eye on this one..

I think you will need the 1500 at a minimum
Especially if you want to run Avcs

.

Yep, the heads are different between the 30D and R so no interchangeability unfortunately.
