You may be able to use someone else's bike to get the license but then you have to go home where there is no free bike :(

I'm one for getting the bike first.

I would... if funds permitted... currently, I'm looking at booking the pre-learners course in the first weekend of Dec... checking out the schedule with the missus and if all good, will book the course tonight... :)

Just had a chat to a mate that can hook me up with any bike I want (LAMS approved for now) for a decent price, he's a rider himself and is in a number of clubs.

Now if I could just get a license date on an appropriate date that would be sweet, other wise I think I might just chuck a sickie.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I should just convert to single, right?

Yeah I think that's just going to have to be the best option

but how do you test ride it first? bikes are very different to cars, your build/height/weight etc has a huge impact on the bike if it suits you or not

I'm with Alexxx on this one, get the license, test ride different bikes/models etc, purchase the one that suits you.

Yup... that is good advice... plan on getting the pre-learners first, then get my L's... then go bike hunting... :)

Just coz I can...

I was looking at CTP prices for bikes...

Seems like a 250-600cc bike will be around $380 for CTP, but a 125cc is $150?

To keep costs down, a 125cc would be logical, but it would be severely underpowered, wouldn't it?

There are just so many 125cc bikes out there on LAMS that are quite cheap overall... but it wouldn't be worth it if you couldn't enjoy the feeling of being on a bike...

Get your license, ride them all.

Yes a 125cc will be disappointing and will probably just make you hate riding it.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

I won't lie, the first few weeks of riding in heavy traffic was a bit nerve-racking.

Having trucks driving towards you and feeling the air disturbance they create, even riding in a decent wind can be interesting but you do settle into it, it becomes part of the experience and you get used to it and realize it's very easy to adjust.

FYI I was lane splitting on day 2, it's really not scary or dangerous...in fact it's probably more safer lane splitting than not.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

125 won't be worth it. my bikes greenslip was around $280 in NSW, the prev owner offered to re-rego it for me (I pay the rego) and the greenslip was around $100 cheaper.

250 with a few simple breathing mods makes a much more enjoyable bike. my bike is very modest and will pull away from just about anything at the lights

Thanks man... yeah I was just making sure that a 125 was as gutless as I thought it would be, compared to a 250 or the 500. $280 for CTP is pretty good... I guess I'll have to shop around when the time comes... :)
