Put the block and heads together on the weekend, just waiting on my oil pump then its swap time. Don't think it will be done before HVC with the run in and all but I am trying my best

So just an update for everyone the building of the new motor is underway! finally! So far we have done a transfer of most parts from the old ej20 onto the new 207 block and have made considerable progress. There have been a few setbacks with bolts breaking and wiring harness crumbling but that was all to be expected considering the age of the car and the fact it hasn't been touched before.

 

The gearbox and rear end will be getting done shortly and will be putting the motor back into the car simultaneously. Should be awesome once its all done!! In the meantime here are some pics taken last weekend and our progress up to now...

So im proud to say that the motor is in and I took it for its maiden voyage over the weekend. Went for close to 1000kms down the south coast running it through the motions. Proud to say not one leak or problem which kinda scares me haha. Cant wait till its tuned and running right. Feel sorry for anyone driving behind me at the moment cause all they can smell is fuel! I gotta say though had a great time putting this thing together and feel really accomplished for doing it. Big shout out to Aaron, Ben and Glenn for all their help over the last few weeks I really appreciate it and will pay you all in assistance with your cars and many more beers.

Yeah I know I was thinking that when I was putting it back together but was keen to get it all done that weekend. I will put one in at some point when I have a free weekend again

Still recon we ahould have done the gearbox and diff while the motor was out.. would have been easier considering there isnt alot of room in your garage... atleast when we do get around to doing it your mum can cook that chicken and lamb feast she cooked up that night we put the motor back in

Got my hands on some new front brakes during the week and was able to test them out down old pac with Scott (SNOOTA) on Saturday. T3 4000 slotted with the project MU HC800 pads, thanks to Pro Speed Racing for the parts, delivery was practically same day. Also picked up a new red SFB for the engine bay cause racecar.

Paint the insides of the headlights black looks soo much better imo or get some sti ones if you have the coin

That's where I got mine from but I had to trim the size down to make it fit.
