EugeneUtopia in the USA fitted up some aftermarket. They do have ugly daylight LEDs but i would likely just pull them to bits and remove the LEDs and the orange indicator lens'

I've looked into retrofitting projectors but i don't like how they turn out, but i could easily be convinced otherwise! Maybe if you could black out all the existing chrome reflectors...

I really like the aggressive look the eye lids give the car.

Projectors would look awesome on this if you blacked out all the reflective chrome. Will also give you a heaps better light output if you use good projectors like Morimoto.

Funny thing just happened. An evo just did a slow drive by of my house and yelled "piece of s.h.i.t" at my foz - must be doing something right

Haha What? Was it in jest or did the bloke genuinely mean it. Yelling out of cars is so 1995.

Yeah, every projector retro fit I've seen looks tits compared to the aftermarket lights on offer. Those cheap nasty looking DRLs just make aftermarket lights a bad option.

Here's some inspiration;

so i finished work yesterday a bit earlier and got onto citylink before rush hour, foz was feeling real strong so i nailed it in third on the onramp, great power, then boom.... boost cut. My boost cut is set to 22psi so that was a little alarming.

did some logging last night and sure enough it was hitting 21.45psi real easy. I was thinking EBCS was playing up. sent my rom and logs to a mate in the know and he made some changes to the boost/wastegate tables. did some logging tonight and she now maxes out at 17.1psi.

So I'm getting a retune ASAP as the current tune appears to be poo.

As soon as I've sorted this 98PULP tune out, bring on the sugar juice ;) Almost done apart from the box, diff and drive shafts. Can't wait to get back to the vic hillclimb series - already missed the first four rounds, should be able to do round 5,6 &7 with a bit of luck....

So the foz is running exceptionally well. New tune is linear and strong and the logs are perfect. Took about five revisions to get on-song but that's e-tuning i guess!

Lately I've been trying desperately to get this six speed and diff in so i can come up to HVC, but alas it's just not meant to be :(

had several issues:

- missing shifter linkage

- tailshaft stub stuck in the gearbox after transport

- Pinion flange on the diff not matching tailshaft

- wrong year shifter provided

- knob didn't fit

- reverse lockout fuk'd

so i picked up:

- New 08+ shifter

- missing linkage

- cobb short shifter

- hardrace shifter bushes

- cobb knob

dropped the shaft, box and diff off at gearbox and diff workshop and they:

- checked diff for condition, checked all tolerances, replaced all seals, swapped pinion flange and set all preloads

- pulled the universal to bits on the tailshaft stub and put a puller on the shaft to remove stuck stub

- checked seals and selection of all gears on box

also swapped the broken whiteline endlinks for AVO, fitted up rear brembos at last with new rotors and swapped my 20/22mm F&R sways for 24mm adjustable :)

Six speed soon! I need to find a good auto electrician to wire up the DCCD pro, switch, toggle wheel and custom led display... fun times to come.

So while you lot were socialising, hooning, cruising and generally taking part in HVC type activities i was installing my 09 DCCD six speed and R180 plated two way diff.

Everything fitted!!!

2010 wrx rear driveshafts (R180 inner 5x100 outter)

2007 JDM Spec C R180 2 way platted diff

2009 JDM DCCD six speed

2005 STi flywheel

2011 STi cross member bushes

2010 wrx rear diff front cradle (didn't need this but its a good upgrade)

2013 STi shifter assembly

2007 shifter knuckle

New cobb short shifter and bushes

New exedy HD clutch

had some issues along the way as you would expect but no major problems at all :)

started the job at 10am and finished about 9:30pm.

this is the only photo i got on the day - diff installed

by the time i had driven back from Healesville to Melbourne, i thought i'd bought a lemon! faarking noisy - the noise got worse the hotter it got. Noise in neutral that went away with clutch in. Noise in all gears when the load came off the box - like excessive backlash.

On Sunday i put the interior back together and re-installed all the shifter surround noise insulation... hoping that helped and it did a little.

Drove it to work on Monday, when i got back to my car park on Tuesday morning i saw the puddle of oil in my parking space - about 100 - 200 mL :( not happy.

Spent Tuesday and today chasing rebuild costs and the best i could do for a full rebuild was about 2.5k all in.

Finished work early today and took it for an in-car assessment this afternoon @ trans gears and diffs in Thomastown.

The technician jumped in the drivers and started it up.

The first thing he noticed was the noise on idle that goes away with clutch in.
The first thing he asked was "have you got a heavy duty clutch?" Yes i have. Exedy heavy duty.
So we went for a drive around the block.
He shifts it through all gears.

Outcome:

- Seems to be normal gear chatter that is exaggerated by the heavy duty clutch and harder cross member bushes - he said to check there is no metal to metal in any of the mounts.
- Does not seem to be a bearing as the same noise is present in all gears - he said that normally you would hear that through some gears but not others
- Oil leak is excessive so i need to note where the oil is coming from - driveshaft seals? rear yoke seal? or input shaft seal? so i am parking it and will check the puddles tomorrow morning.

He recommended that i drive it for the next few weeks noting if it gets any worse. They can do the driveshaft and rear yoke seals while the box is in the car, but input shaft seal is box out.

So, i'm happy that i don't have to spend 2.5k to rebuild, but i'm also a bit sad that i have to put up with the noise forever... at least i know i can hill climb it without destroying the box

so i'm losing about 50 mL of gearbox fluid on the ground everyday. Picked up driveshaft and tailshaft seals and o-rings. Hopefully this fixes the issue, I can't afford the Motul

I'd guess (hope) it's going to be the front driveshaft seal/s, they're very easy to tear if the stub is not perfectly aligned on reinstall.
A1 driveshaft in Collingwood fixed mine for around $60 each iirc.

Otherwise: great stuff! Dual cpu DCCDPro installed already?

And of course you checked the rear diff is a 3.54 ratio? :P
If the 07 spec C donor was a hawkeye, it could be a 3.9.
08+ GR went to 1.1 c-diff and 3.54 rear as per BP/BL 6mt w/ Torsen R180 the ring and pinion of which could be a donor if req. :)

The shifter bushes will increase nvh, but doing all the mounts and bushes is said to be a fix, especially matching the engine, pitch stop and gearbox mounts.
If it's still too much consider stock gearbox linkage bushes as imho they're not absolutely required with the positive feel (adjustable) of the Cobb sts. :)

Hey Ben!

Have not wired in the DCCD pro yet, but will get around to that soon. I want to have a panel made to mount the switches, LEDs and toggle wheel. Probably mount my intercooler waterspray switches there too.

yeah the diff is the correct ratio it's the JDM MY07 Spec-C Plated two-way (38410AA120).

I have perrin pitch stop, cusco gearbox mount, STi crossmember bushes, and stock engine mounts  apart from the noise, it fees really great!!

How about a sheet of carbon via eBay for the mounting panel.
Not trying to alarm you but a quick Google tells me that diff, if stock, is 3.9.
http://home.gci.net/...hart_Public.pdf
You want to get it on stands and count how many tail shaft rotations you get from one turn of the rear wheels.
