Just a typo error. Post has been corrected.

No:5 (top port hose- solenoid box end) -->T-->No:22(2nd turbo side of DPS)

Personally I wouldn't mess around with the vac lines and modifying the system, other than replacing them individually and carefully. Take it to a Subaru Specialist that can diagnose what is actually wrong with it and fix it.

See the top photo. there's a BIG vac line running from the top port of the ECV (big round silver thing mid left of the photo)
that loops back to the right and TEES into a smaller line.

that 1ft piece of hose replaces two troublesome solenoids.

there's a heap of these writeups on RSLC from Myself (username Rob) Billsy and TassieTT.

What you also need to do is adjust the ECV rod length properly so it opens soon enough, but not too early

attachicon.gifECV.JPG

if you look at the rod going from the ECV actuator to the ECV itself (in the Secondary up-pipe) it has two 10mm lock nuts above a LONG flat-sided section.

-loosen off the lock nuts

-you need to warm up the car and have it idling.
-you then need to turn the adjuster part (flat sided bit) to lengthen the rod (which opens the ECV) until you hear it rattling,
-then tighten it again about 2 full turns.
-do up teh lock nuts and test
this will put enough pre-load on the actuator so that it's held closed, but once the system gets sufficient exhaust flow it will start to creep open slightly and allow the "pre-spool" to begin on the secondary (the whole bypass above is bypassing the pre-spool system which does bugger all)

if it's too loose, it will blow open too early and you'll get erratic boost, too late and it won;t open soon enough, making the VoD worse.
Mine was set perfect after a little tuning that it would give an almost seamless transition.

Hose No:5 get disconnected at the solenoid box end. That end is then Teed to hose No:22.

Hose No:2 is disconnected also at the solenoid box end. The hose is just plugged/blocked off

Ah I can see it now. Its not clear on that attached image of a modified one that its a Tee that joins the line. Someone should do a paint overlay on that vac line diagram. No guarantee this is even going to help him though... just have to remember how to put it back again later.

Side note: I just read this topic and my brain exploded. Kinda glad I ended up going with a single turbo Subaru hahaha! :P

Have you tried taking it to someone to get some help?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

It's not really that bad once you've got your head around what does what.

Unfortunately on the internet you only hear the bad and none of the good.

Does this mean I don't have VAC?

That line goes directly to your vacuum tank so that's a good thing bro.

I was forking around in the shed of doom yesterday and found a vac line with a pill in it.  Great!

God damn this thread is a head fork.
