No XT engines available in manual. They do have an 04 WRX with 68k km for $7k which is not bad. A V5 half cut with crate EJ25 bottom end and E* plugin is still the winner for me. 180 - 200 atw with massive torque. Reprogramming the factory ecu is an interesting idea but would be a recipe for failure IMO. Carry on though. :)

That manual is for a bugeye non avcs engine. EJ25T's are DBW and have AVCS.

The 03 would be too expensive because you would need injectors and a turbo on top of the short motor and retune. Will work out something for a V5 half cut plus EJ25 and E8 plugin. Just worked it out for a $7k V5 half cut at ~$20k. That's the whole works including new EJ25 short and full engine service, fmic, cai, exhaust, fuel pump, E8, new clutch etc. Lots of money but lots of result also. It'll have a driveable run in tune but you would need to have a final tune after the engine is run in. I'd expect this to be another $600 at Matt Spry's. The 03 would be similiar cost but the E8 would be replaced with a reflash and you would have to purchase injectors and a proper turbo.

200kW atw wouldn't be a bad target. Anyone care to back me up? Nick

Turbo, injectors and EJ25 are all good for a safe 200atw with good tuning and ~18psi. The couple we have already built have been tuned to 190kw atw at 16psi for reliability's sake. The power comes in at ~2k and keeps going til ~6k where it tapers off. Perfect for effortless quick driving. After that you need a bigger turbo, bigger injectors and pistons. 200kw atw is a very quick street car.

It's not out of the range but you are missing the brakes and you would have to pay stupid amounts for freight. Best to shop locally for freight and warranty purposes.

Not sure what exactly you've decided on... but:

http://www.rexnet.co...howtopic=101015

After playing with the idea of building another secondary engine for my STi ive decide to put the EJ257 Long motor back up for sale... Only 9000klms old!!!!

Consists of:

EJ257 Short Block
CP Pistons
MY02 Heads
V7 Sti Cams
Fuel rails and 770cc Nipon Denso Injectors!

Asking best price over $2800 firm

The engine has only seen 5000klms run in and at most 4000klms on 12.5psi... low boost due to shitty internal waste gate on my deceased gt2860r when we tried to run it up to 18psi it spiked like a b*tch so never did!

Will also include partial MY02 loom and Microtech LT10s with X4 ignitor no coils though for an additional $400
Pics to come soon!
Will post at buyers expense!

That's good bang for your buck in my opinion, for, what seems, a nicely built Long. Nick

Yes but you seem to think a cosworth is good value for money :drinks:

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.
