Rudd dorrahs?

spending the whole lot on one muffler would probably make me cry just a little...

especially if i was going to go a twin system later

twin varex... anyone heard of that?

i dunno... i think i'd rather a system that sounded nice and sporty and still flowed well... but was still legal volume... as hard as that might be...

just go for a STi OEM muffler, I have one in the garage, but it's going on the the RX. STi have nice flow exhausts with minimals sound. Now nicks off to the valley, yeah yeha.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

Twin system ftw. (It'll sound sextastic too) Just use some good mufflers. I have 2x straight through Xforce mufflers. No sound at all while cruising. When I plant the foot it howls. win.

Twin pipes sounds great in theory but where are you going to put the mufflers? The floorpan is not designed for twin pipes or mufflers(Soops taxi is). You don't need twin 2.5" pipes on a 3l NA 6. Smash a pair of turbos on it and it'll be worthwhile. :D

does soops have two rear mufflers??

i've seen photos/videos and it looks like he only has one...

i'd assume it's possible to get dual inlet mufflers...

as many as it takes to get it flowing properly and sounding good...

LOL yeah twin 2.5" pipes on a 3ltr would be massive over kill. I've got twin 2.5" pipes on my 5.7 which apparently flow enough to support 300kw@rw (sif I'll get anywhere near that.) I'd suggest a twin 2" system. It would still flow the same as a single 4" system, but still provide the back pressure the engine needs. People that run big single systems on NA cars are stooges IMO. I often see V8's with 3.5" or 4" single exhaust systems. Their general theory is "ZOMG it must be hektic bruuuu". Al, I'd reckon two 2" pipes with a common (two inlet and outlet) muffler would fit. The infamous FLAWLS had that setup and it did fit. There is plenty of room where the original muffler was to put a nice twin inlet and outlet muffler. Tristan, Xforce is fine. I honestly could not be happier with my system, its silent while cruising (can hear only road noise) and has a nice throaty growl when I stick the boot into it. Lukey is also good, I used a lukey system on a VH commodore I had a while back, sounds good while still maintaing good sound control. Really at the end of the day its what ever floats your boat, but you'll be happy with either brand I can assure you.

There's nowhere to run a twin setup on the gen2 unless they are side by side, and even then there's no room for 2 mufflers. The fuel tank and spare wheel well get in the way...

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

i've seen a twin system on a gen2...

it was side by side, and that's how i'd do it too...

i'd be doing it for the better flow rather than being fully hecktik and having a tip on each side of the car...

I don't see the point. Why not got a single system made to the correct size? More is not always better.

because a big single will be droney even if muffled properly...

and it won't flow aswell due to fluid dynamics of air in a larger space...

in essence, going from lots of small pipes to a big pipe creates turbulance which is bad, because it stops the scavenging effect of a good exhaust setup... which is what's needed with an NA exhaust...

besides, two smaller pipes will maintain a higher exhaust velocity than a larger system... adding to the affore mentioned scavenging effect...
