Did you lift it free of the window? It can jam if you don't!

2. more wheels

3. less auto

4. less turbo's

this would make me smile more

Stayin standard height scotty! Otherwise the front lip will be smashed to bits getting out of my driveway. Wheels are staying as-is. Manual conversion when i win the Just Car $10,000 giveaway comp and while the TT is running perfectly, it stays!

Have a big list of things Ben is sorting out for me as they come through the shop.

Edit: Just realised i don't have updated pics of my new wheels. Running 5 spoke D-E ETune2 wheels, like what i had on my old GTB.

1000x better then the green!

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

The key ring thing looks great.

They are much brighter than the standard globes.

Much better than the green.

Great work.

Nice! Though I've used warm white LEDs in all my interior lights, I prefer the colour

I used these ones. They're awesome. It's hard finding good ones among the shit on eBay, but these are awesome. Exactly the colour light i wanted.

I got a whole bunch of T10 LED's from some other mob and they were shite. Dim as and not bright white. I have come to the conclusion, anything T10, use a good brand bright white normal globe.

Some interesting stuff! Looking through the original paperwork about the GTB and it's really fascinating. I have the cars full registration history up until export. Some strange stuff goes on in Japan.

Here's the original dealership it was delivered to in September 1999 and first registered.

Dealership_zps5a6b755e.jpg

From there, it looks like it spent 4-5 years on the lot at Saga Subaru before it was purchased by a T. Kinoshita for his Nishiuchi Automobile Sales lot in August 2004. I find it odd it sat for so long at Saga, maybe a demonstrator? Mr Kinoshita looks like he changed address in July 2007. He stayed in Kochi City but moved address.

It was then purchased in August 2007 by a white guy named D. Freeman. It's odd as going into his name it was just an "alteration" but not an ownership transfer until a year later in August 2008. Mr Freeman looked like he had had enough in Japan and the car was scheduled for export in February 2008. It didn't do many km's over there, from July 2006 to July 2008 it had only done 21100 km's. It's last reading in Japan was 122400 km's.

Upon further reading, looks like Mr Freeman leased the car from Nishiuchi Auto's. One inspection certificate from August 2007 lists him as the "User" and Nishiuchi Auto Sales as the "owner", same with a certificate from July 2008. Perhaps he got finance and paid it out?

Eventually he brought the car over in 2008. It was passed and approved in November 2008 under approval from the Australian Government. Only thing that needed to be done to pass it for compliance was the addition of child safety restraints in the rear roof.

From there on, can't see much else. Must say, Japan have a really good way of keeping track of cars.

Well, there's a bit of a history lesson tonight. If anyone knows how things run in Japan car ownership wise, i would love to know more!

From what i gather the Aussie guy had owned it for at least 4 or so years IN Japan. Looking back through the service history in Japan, the receipts are in his name with the first 100,000km service which was done early. He at least put about 20,000km on it. From the huge amount of records i have, i highly doubt this guy was just in it to bring it back. No one would put this much effort into record keeping to just flog it off back in Australia. He even kept it for a while in Aus as he has a CTP slip from 2009 in there.

As for the rest of it's life past 2009 till when i bought it, no idea. The young bloke i bought it off had it for 2 years and he has all records of his services, so from 2009 to 2012 it has no history from the owner at that time, after Mr Freeman.

Apart from the owner of the used car dealership, he was the only person to ever have ownership of it in Japan since it was delivered to Saga City Subaru.

My theory is that it may have been a run-about for the used car dealer? I know the GT-B wagons were getting harder to sell with the RSK taking alot of the sales (Hence the E-Tune rehash) but it seems like it didn't see much action over there having only put on 120,000km on in 9 years? That's about 13,000km a year of it's life in  Japan. Although in saying that, with calculations, it's had an average of 14,000km a year on it in Australia.
