You need a scanner for the cable, your just best off to to connect the plugs under the dash

But no check engine light, which is good, but would be nice to clear codes, because car is back in limp mode again for some reason :(

Do you know what codes come up?

 

Might be worth knowing what is putting the car in limp mode

Cool, but that doesn't mean anything. For example, I have a blown check engine light bulb.

 

 

 

Spose we need to chIck your codes then ay!?  (typed in a South African accent).

Ha yeah, well I'm sure the bulb isn't blown, in the light comes on just before I start the car, when all the lights come on, but never when I'm driving. Anyway, just ordered a cheap scanner, and if that doesn't work, oh well.
