My contribution to Star Wars Day. The LaserDisc set I found at a used record store in Japan. All I need is a player, but I'm patiently waiting for a good one to pop up.

 

 

Thats pretty cool but wouldn't you be better just buying the trilogy on blu-ray and buying a blu-ray player if you don't have one already?

Yeah I know, I saw it sitting there and was like... fork, I needa buy that. $45AUD later it was mine. It only added 5kg to my luggage...

I have it on a couple of formats. But this supposedly is the highest quality way to watch it, as close to the theatrical releases as possible (before lucas went senile and started changing everything). These discs are post THX enhancements, but pre 1997 remasters. There are earlier releases on LD pre THX, but they are rarer and every home release has its own issues. It's an amazing box, has a book I can't read in Japanese and its like 18 sides total (9 laserdiscs).

Lm's would look mad, depending on the colour

Gunmetalish grey/slate grey, some sort of dark metallic/mica grey

Well I do now.. after looking it up when I arrived home. I just knew that LaserDisc was one of the better ways to enjoy Star Wars as we knew it (or as I knew it, on VHS). I had to visit some scary forums to obtain this information. Many bothans died.
