Morgan, if you have a modern laptop that also has HDMI you can run the HDMI cable between the two and use your TV as a display.. one advantage is HDMI will also transmit the sound too :D

Ah brilliant!

We watch alot of TV from the lappy. I'll double check but I'm 99% sure my lappy has one...

More modern DVD players have HDMI too I think, because they upscale to HD

Will have to check this. Definitely want HD from the DVD player. Was only a cheap unit which I bought just after we got married. Will double check tonight :)

HDMI is a Cat5E cable with a HDMI tip instead of an RJ45 tip. Basically a network cable with a different plug.

Stores buy them in for a little over $7 most of the time, and for "gold plated" ones they pay a tad under $20. So, never pay more then $15 for a cheapo lol. (in other words talk them down, but dont low ball or they just wont sell it)

Be careful with cheap cheap HDMI cables. I've had one or two CHEEAPPpp ones and they just don't work or don't do HDCP properly.

Get the second cheapest cable you can find, i'd pay around 20-30 bucks for one to be safe (no $5 jobbies)

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

I'll see what devices need it tonight and then I'll buy a few.

Loving HD TV though. 100Hz, LED, etc...

I would probably be more inclined to buy an LED LCD over the traditional LCD :D use a lot less power from what I have heard.

later this year perhaps I might invest in a new TV for my room, want to get maybe a 42 or a 50 inch :D can hook it up to my laptop and watch shit :D

I'm still trying to figure out which one of Brett's hairs they were cutting?

have a look when he is down next, will be the short one.

and watch shit :D

I knew you're into some weird stuff... :P

Our lounge room is pretty tiny so we got a 40" Sony EX720. One site I saw said had it for sale for $2299 and we got ours for $796! Winrar!

EDIT: Perhaps the $2299 was for the 60" or something?

I think I'm in the shit because I don't want to go to the GYM because I want to save money.

FFS

Also, it's a Posted Image'ing gym. Why would I want to go there?
