Ive been looking on ebay for replacement coils. Ive found some that will suit and sound like a good replacement. $430 delivered for a set. Do i just bite the bullet and buy them and put them in?

Not without inspecting the ones you've got, mate. It still could be a few other things, but the chance it is the coilpacks is very high.

Will it be obvious to someone who knows f'all about these things( me), if one or more of them are cracked?
I could pull it apart this arvo. I'm heading down to Nik's tonight to brew for a couple of days and then it's the Easter break. So theoretically I won't "need" the car for a few days.

Haha awesome. The chicks down at my barbers at dressed as bunny girls for Easter.

Look closely, clean them as best as possible and you should see them. Ideally, do it when the car is hot and it's breaking down (ie: get it up to temp, get it home and rip 'em out)

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. thing is, I wasnt in a situation where i could take a sneaky pic. Plus Ive been having my hair cut there by both of these ladies for the better part of the last 5 years. Im not going to weird them out.
