He is such a troll.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

If it were me, I would be winging it. I would probably dot point a few things for quick reference and make the rest up in between.

Some people can remember an entire speech word for word, I am not one of these people so I would not attempt that, and nothing looks worse than someone giving a speech and reading from a sheet the whole time.

True.... gotta keep eye contact, so look down and up and around the room... plus, if reading word for word from paper, if you mess up, you lose your place, it can be quite bad...

Generally, I would start off with keywords I want to use in the speech, and then work backwards from there.

So for you it would something like
"just, waiting, mate"

Then go on from there?

Yeah just break it down into key points or interesting things... things that will trigger your memory of the main thing you wrote down.... That way you can keep eye contact and not look/sound like a robot... :)

I don't think I'll be leaving SC for a long time... so much to learn about these cars and such a great community... I need sticker for my B4... gonna stickerbomb it... (no... I won't)..

I would think Shaz's speeches would be more...

"Look, I have money, you don't. This is my bank, so do as I say or GTFO"

The writing of the speech is the easy bit Simo!

Nailing the delivery is the hard part. Keep your head up, engage your audience, eye contact with individual people for no more then 1 second, be aware of the body language you are projecting, be confident in yourself when talking. If you are nervous as hell, your voice will reflect that, so its important to be aware of how you sound. If you get stuck, take a deep breath, and concentrate back on the subject. Don't stroll away from the subject, and be careful of using "Umm" and "Ahhh" in between speech cards, or pieces of paper. Try and memorise the speech as much as you can prior to delivering, because the more you can do it without the cards, the less nervous you will be.
