You building a V8 Golf?????
Yep...Mk1 2 door, 4.5l V8 from a 928 Porsche, rear clip/transaxle from manual 924 or 944.
The Golf is at my place, already stripped (motor/box are still in, but it's naked inside) We - building with a friend - have a Good running 928 (complete car - was under $2k - SO MUCH RUST) and are just waiting for the right 924/944/944turbo wreck/rustbucket/damaged or whatever to come along next. My mates neighbour (they live on a farm) Is a 928/924 collector/mechanic/nutter and has bits and pieces everywhere (and another 9 x 928's)...he is more than happy to help too, which is a bonus.
The motor will be hard against a fabricated firewall...the whole rear clip needs to be narrowed (won't be cheap) and the Golf chassis needs to be boxed up to mount the rear clip on...
Happy days ahead when it's done though. It should even turn corners.

I would just go auto if I wanted it as a Drag car...my mate is halfway through a different build already for that (Pillarless 2 door 61 Belair - it was a normal 4 door...was) It has a 427, Tunnel Ram, Full Cage, 16x16" Centrelines, Wilwoods, Mark Williams Diff etc. etc.
The Golf is for Drift/Hillclimb/Circuit and yes, it will run the strip too.

Still haven't asked the sand mine client if I can get access at sunset/after hours for some epic car photos. Don't want to seem weird

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,right off.

On a train going to work. Decided I needed more exercise, so I'm riding to and from train stations both ends. Plus I don't have spend $$$ on fuel and parking, and I can have a proper sized beer after work.
