I'm not watching anything. I was just going through a few emails, getting my papers together for my police application and that's pretty much it. All at 4 AM.

What unit are you trying to get into? Or, heading for I guess is more the question....

Well for now it's an application into the NSW Police Force itself where I will have to spend three years performing general duties before being able to get into a specific unit/department within the force. I am hoping to get into SWAT or the riot squad. I was initially gonna go for the Highway Patrol but used by head and decided against it.

Cool. If you can last doing the general duty stuff for 3 years you should be fine. I guess it's either something you'll love or hate straight away.

I'd love to be a cop, but I hate people - so it wouldn't work out for me.

Also - I would LOVE one of these inside me right meow. Lobster roll with sweet potato fries.

That's what I'm thinking. Ideally I'd love to get into the firies but that has proven to be EXTREMELY difficult. I've applied for the Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting service and Fire and Rescue NSW about three times each now and I've still not managed to get through. I pass the first phase, but don't get called back for an interview/in-house test. And on top of that, whatever result you get in the test you do is kept for 12 months regardless of how good or bad you did.

 

This will be the second time I apply for the police force (the first time I was rejected due to my driving record which has now been clean for about two and a half years). I've applied as an expression of interest for a company called Aurecon whom is one of the top five engineering firms in Australia. I'd love to become a structural engineer, and Aurecon have cadetships every year apparently. I've got a referral from a senior engineer who works there and is a member of our forum and club.liberty, and he said that last year was the first year in all the time he's been there that they didn't have an intake. Bad timing right?! That would be the ultimate job for me and would be one that I would hold higher than the police, firies, etc.
