So that big plastic plate on the back of the detonator isn't needed really? I might look further in to that, any info on your thread?

Quick update, finally after 2 months I decided today was a good enough day to install my monsoons.
Man they were bloody easy to put on once I figured out how they sit there. I have a PDF version of the instructions that I'll upload at some point too.

Also have my blackout cluster in now for about a month or so. Thanks to Nick for being able to fix the pins for me since there was a slight grounding problem making the cluster blink and not properly work. I'm very happy with it because I was getting sick of the ugly green of the stock cluster.

I ended up buying another RH headlight to troubleshoot my leveling motor issues, now I'm thinking I'll have to get a LH headlight because the lens is all scratched up on the inside and the RH one isn't. I haven't got much else to report on at the moment, other than thinking about buying some SSR wheels from Japan. If anyone has any info on them let me know.

Will probably pop down both wednesdays on my two weeks holidays Simon, I gotta talk to you by the way.
It's a 4 cylinder so not very powerful..
Yeah unfortunately it's an auto Bennie, plans are to do engine and transmission conversion down the line. Need to get a spare car before doing any of that though..

Finally decided I have to get my knock sensor issue fixed so I've ordered a new one from Japan along with a LH HID and Legacy rear garnish. I've also recently purchased Gen 4 Spec B calipers, rotors and pads off Alexei from club.lib so as soon as the HEL braided lines show up for them they are going on, as I don't have much life left in my current set of pads.
Not much has happened to the Outback in the last two months apart from these purchases. I'll take plenty of photos when I install my brakes.

With the steering wheel you can interchange the horn pads. I had the same problem when going from the silver cover (JDM airbag charge was bigger) to the black D-E.
Use a flatblade screwdriver and just pry the airbag out and switch the covers over. Fiddly, but can be done. That way you can use your existing bag/detonator.
I had to do this with my GTB wheel.
I was a bit cautious to start with, because airbag.
But in the end it was piss easy, just fiddly as per Jimbo's comment above.

So it's been a while since my last post. I've done a few things that haven't been posted in here.
Installed those gen 4 GT Spec B calipers and rotors, the HEL braided lines stand out a bit because of the kawasaki green. Man braided lines are a nice feel on the pedal, that paired with the Castrol React Dot 4 brake fluid are fantastic. Didn't have any trouble at all cracking the nuts for the calipers which is great. Cheers to Mark for the Subaru decals on the fronts, unfortunately wouldn't stick on the rears. Had a little bit of trouble at first bleeding the lines because I don't have much experience so it took my a bit.
Heres the rears before and after -
Before
After
And here's the fronts, the black looks really great behind the silver wheels.
I also finally got my rear Whiteline 22mm 20mm swaybar. I didn't think that something like that could improve the drive so much. I can't exactly remember if I had it at the Victorian Christmas cruise or not. I have a feeling I might have since I was pushing the car as hard as I could. I wasn't sure what others did but I put the decal on the swaybar.
I'm currently pretty happy with my car apart from the body imperfections. I have some paint mixed up for my bonnet and guards, and some more for the front bar since the clear has started chipping away on that. My dad scored me a brand new bonnet guard from the storage at work which had obviously been ordered and never used.
I'm also chasing some new wheels, either some 01 - 05 WRX wheels or a set of new wheels. New ones would either be SSR GTV01 in 17x7 +50 or Work Emotion T7R in 17x8 +45. With the Work's though I'm not sure whether the wider wheels will be okay even with more offset. If anyone can teach me on that, that would be great. Either way both new sets are around the same amount (around $1800) to get, so if I do get them it would be after tax time.
I've also ordered UEL's from Speedyracer in the USA, thanks to Nick for hitting me up with a link. I heard somewhere about UEL's melting CV boots but can't remember if it was a problem for gen 3's or not. So hopefully with my fingers crossed they come within the next couple of weeks.
Here it currently looks for anyone interested, it's a bit dirty but living out in the country with a multitude of dirt roads combined with my love for fishing, thats bound to happen.

Hey Chris do you have the part number of that sway bar? I can only find 20mm bars for BH Liberty's and outback's..
Would it happen to be BSR19XXZ? its 22mm but to suit 1994-98 Libertys..

Hey mate sorry for the late reply I forgot all about it. It's BSR12ZX but it's my fault you can't find it because I posted that its 22mm but it's only 20mm. My bad just a little brain fart.

Ah ok no worries!
I'm keen as to do the rear sway bar upgrade and gen4 struts (with king springs standard height gen 4 wagon rear springs). Should equal a normal lowered gen 3 outback but with harder rear springs and a rear sway, could be an interesting drive especially if the rear likes to slide!

I'll edit together a comparison video when I can get an editor program sorted and have a driveby video filmed.
I also plan to modify the splash tray to fit around the headers. I'll probably cut it up a bit and put a bit of aluminium head shielding where the pipes are close to stop them melting the tray.
Cheers blokes

Keen to hear what it sounds like. I way prefer UEL. It's the way a Subaru wants to be heard.
