That's nice Gaz, but don't fap too much.

Also ING is your best bet for Super.

I'll disagree with with you on ING being the best super place.

There isn't one "best" super fund. Its all relative to your job, contributions and your appetite for risk.

I've got mine in Plum Super (Formally MLC Super), and we have little fees, but we're able to diversify our super funds into different areas if we want (For the record, all my super is in high risk investments, because I don't need access to it for like another 30 years) Some of my older colleagues change their risk preference to low risk (Cash deposits, australian bound) which shows slower growth, but low risk of capital loss.

Also comes with Income Protection, Total Permanent disability cover, and for like an extra $20 a month, I get Critical illness cover for like $500,000

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Yep. No fees. Allows you to invest in what you want, good returns. Voted Best Super product a while back. I personally have 50% Aus shares, 25% cash (mandated) and 25% International fixed interest. Seeing higher than market returns.

Yeah I worked with all superfunds for a while and there isn't a best. It is your choice as a member to either leave it up to the fund to make all the investments, or you can make some changed to what you prefer your money to be invested in. It is yours after all.

If you want full control, SMSF, best if you have a huge super balance though, like 300+k min

Yeah agreed, but ING beats those money grabbing generic Super funds.

I'm surprised you don't have good deal with super being in the ADF Niko?

SMSF's are hard to manage. Big fees, regulations that are hard to understand, etc etc. If you've got a massive balance, yep, definitely worthwhile, but if you're sub 200k in super, better of having it held by a trustee

mines currently with AMP super, because thats who our work uses. part of my little side project over the holidays is to look into what sort of fund its all sitting at, and probably put it all up into a high risk category and see if i can get some better returns going.

agree with you shaz on SMSF. you really need to know what youre doing to get into it. its a hard thing to do.

id really like to get into the stock market, so thats another thing im trying to get more info on and rap my head around currently. if i can get enough knowledge, ill start investing there also.

Of course there is no best. I meant better than who I'm with now. I used to use BT as that is what my work used, then I went to Australian Super and have been there ever since. Would it be worthwhile moving over to the Bankwest default, Shaz?

Or more specifically, better to pick my own or to go with the one that your place of work uses?

Definitely get into a finance-based super fund Gaz. Take your pick man, compare them. Aus super might have been awesome for council, but definitely have a look at finance based super funds.

Haha, yeah we used to run SubyClub comps for that share trading. It was fun, until Josh won all the time.

Invest in Woolworths, put rat poison in Coles deli salads. Profit.
