Yeah, its retarded.Hey Alex,
I know what you mean with Astras......
Don't forget the timing belt fails before 100,000kms and bends all the valves!
60k service, and got slugged with a $2.5K bill, which included (suprise!!) major service and timing belt change.
i wasn't quite prepared for it...bit of a rude shock!

They had a fault when the service interval was 100,00k and heaps of them dropped the belt an buggered the motarz. Cost GMH a packet (not to mention the customers) so they revised the belt replacement to 60,000k.Yeah, its retarded.

Now they have fixed the issue, the interval is back to 100,000k.
$2.5k for a (dealer?) service....jeeeesus. I recon that's not far off getting a fugged one fixed at your local workshop.
Didn't they call you with a quote and authorisation before going ahead????

Dylan....buy a lotto ticket!!!
Sorry dude.

Sorry dude.
There were a few other things wrong with it, and we decided to fix everything.
Last night I found a window reg on ebay. $75 to my door. Better than $200+ from Holden. Brand new. Non OEM but who cares!

Non OEM but who cares!
EXACTLY!
Aftermarket (non OEM) parts have to meet or exceed OEM specs to pass Aust std's so 9/10 a/m parts are actually better quality than OEM.

Ebay FTW! You could also try Electric Life (Sydney), they specialise in electric window parts and rebuild regulators, sometime even eliminating 'factory faults'.
I suppose $2.5k for a belt, service and other stuff isn't so bad.

Quite often OEM and aftermarket parts come from the same factory, just in a different box. Take timing belts, quite a lot of car manufactures get their belts from Gates and its not uncommon to see the Gates part number on a factory belt.
As far as quality, who knows. Ive seen factory parts that are shit and vice versa.

Fucken people who stand just outside shopping centre doors in undercover carparks smoking their ciggis really piss me off... they won't stay in their car and smoke with the doors/windows shut cause they don't like the smell, but because their too fuckin lazy to walk an extra 10m so their out in the open we all have to smell it... like it smells so much better to someone that doesn't smoke.
Hope they all die slow and painful deaths!!
I agree 100% Buzz,
Whoever smokes on here, Tell me WHY you smoke??
