where I come from and do my driving: sideways = head-on collision/ wrapped around tree/ falling off a cliff - therefore AWD=win, RWD= major fail.oh.. and the V8 can take corners WAYYYYYYYYYYY better than the B4..
cause it can take them SIDEWAYS.
B4 / WRX fails again.

HSV are not built by Holden. HSV is a seperate company, based in Clayton VIC. They receive a stripped down SS, rip it apart and start all over again.
Wow, I didn't actually know that! Thanks mate

Be as direct as you want- it doesn't fase me but I come from commonwhore central mate and I'm very aware of performance outside the Subaru family but there is no way a RWD is going to keep up with an all wheel drive on a twisty wet or dirt rd- why are rally cars AWD?? its BETTER!! Yes I know some of the best ROAD handling cars are RWD but also rely heavily on electronic controls. AWD FTW because it's BETTER in MORE situations.
B4>SS - how often do you drive yr road car on a track- not often. B4 WILL leave any falcodore for dead on a REAL road! its just a fact of life that AWD beats RWD hands down.
So a twisty wet or dirt road is a REAL road now?
I went through old pac one night and the road was wet, to be honest I would never do it again. It's just a stupid thing to do no matter what car you have be it an awd with good tyres or a rwd. You will understeer, crash and die if you are pushing the limits. It's bad enough doing these things in the dry and it should really be saved for the track, you never know what can happen and who you can kill.
Thinking back I would never drive a car on a public road like that again, yes it may be fun as it get's your adrenalin pumping, but it's only because you're so close to death.

IMO yes! Pushing the "limits" in any car is stupid on a public rd but my point is that the capabilities of awd are superior to rwd in variable conditions, therefore the rwd will be at its "limit" alot sooner than the awd. so again in conclusion the AWD wins. Seems like you city boys need to do some country driving so you can understand what I'm on aboutSo a twisty wet or dirt road is a REAL road now?

Cool.
When did it become an argument about wet or dirt roads?
I agree that AWD is great for providing better traction in adverse conditions, but AWD doesn't necessarily mean that the car "handles" better.
Traction control, ESP, VDC, EBD, ABS e.t.c can do wonders for a car that doesn't have AWD and often do a better job IE, it can be safer.
City boys need to do country driving. LOL.... Funny.
So let me get this straight, you're changing your argument from a V8 vs boxer 4 to a RWD vs AWD debate?

the arguement was/is that a B4 is a better car than a SS. and no I'm not changing that- never will.Cool.
When did it become an argument about wet or dirt roads?
it didn't that's just my example of when a SS would fail

yes and alot more boring and takes away from driver input
