He takes the title. It was a great drive, basically did the same distance as driving to Adelaide. I’ll tally it up and drop that in the build thread.

Got home several hours ago ;)

I went to Bendigo on Saturday to play with old Holdens and talk cars with old mate.

Good day was good.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Gold! Wish I had my dash cam installed for that one... mind you, I doubt he could see me in his rear view mirror after I ran out of lane and the travelling speed dropped to 80km/h.

Glad you had a good day in Benders ;)

Quiet around here of late..

Got bored on the weekend so bought some leather cleaner & conditioner.

Next minute all the seats are out for a good scrub, follow by a going over with conditioner.

Got bored again the other night, so pulled out the blend door motor to give it service to stop the annoying noise when I switch the car off.

I wonder what I'll pull off it next time I get bored?

It's been stupid quiet here of late. I'd post up stuff myself, but I haven't really touched my cars besides putting fuel in them for a while. Hopefully move into the new house soon, so having the shed out the back with a wood fire in it will make it a lot easier to just walk outside and start tinkering on the track car. New position at work is good too, back on Monday to Friday, so home at a decent hour.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Yeah, I’m not doing much at all on my Subaru’s. The Pajeros are taking some attention as is work with the usual end of term workload - all while planning our trip away just after Easter. Rear main on the family bus Pajero needs to be replaced before we go away, so guess what I’m doing over the Easter weekend (and hoping everything goes well).

Other than loving every minute in my brumby not much is going on in the Subi world for me (actually, I managed to drive my sister’s Gen3 RX Liberty through town tonight. It’s filthy! Dust is coming in through places you wouldn’t imagine! That’s dirt road life for you I guess. Still drives well and sounds good!

I need more time to focus on the RS - get these rusted areas painted and the car sealed up again before winter sets in. Then I’ll hopefully get the engine together and have it in at some point. That would be ace! She won’t be a beauty by any stretch of the imagination, but having her running gives her a real future...

Cheers

Hi guys, hope you're all well. Lots going on & changes all round for me. I took a redundancy in November and I'm having 6 month off. Been focussing on the necessary renos to the house I bought last year and enjoying some quality time with my partner, she's also taking a well deserved break from work. Im looking to change careers when I finally decide to start working again but I'm not sure which way to go with that. I'm not even contemplating looking for work until after July and it will be Casual or part time position when I get back into it. Hoping to find something closer to home as I'm totally over the commute to Sydney from the Central Coast & it racks up too many K's too quickly. I'm semi retired I guess lol.

Sold my Impreza & it only took 3 hrs to do so. Probably sold it too cheap but a quick no fuss sale was the goal and that's what I got.

The Mrs surprised me with a mint 2017 WRX Premium S-edition for a valentine's present. Crystal White with only 50K on the clock, so I'm feeling pretty loved. Very happy that it's the S-edition which comes with a bunch of STi goodies like wheels, lip spoiler, strut brace, gear nob etc.
I've only put a few kms on it so far but took it to Canberra over Easter and it was a pleasure to drive.
The only Mods so far are cosmetic, side skirts and a rear diffuser. I'll get it tuned further down the track but I'm quite happy with the cars ride & performance for now. No massive plans to mod it more than that.

Thats awesome Kong! I hope you enjoy the career change and that a position you want falls into your lap easy enough ;)

The WRX sounds mint! Your partner must think youre a real keeper :P

Started reminiscing about my old Gemini over at Bennie's RS thread.

Here are some pics.

Gemini

It looks a bit tatty here, but I did respray the engine bay before the 1.8l motor went in.

Pics can be deceiving Bennie! The paint used to bleed surface rust if I left it un-polished for too long and there were so may stress fractures in the body a piece of the firewall fell out...

Engine bay was pretty good as I resprayed it when the engine was out. Looked great when it was first done, but looking tired in that pic as it was many years later.

It was my daily for 16 years, flogged it every single day and it gave me very little trouble. Sold it for a VS Acclaim wagon when child #2 arrived.

Do I pine over it.... not really.

Wow, peoples!

That's some great news there Kong, that is certainly a pretty bloody awesome surprise!
Good to hear things are going well for ya dude!

Gem looks great too Jase. One of my mates back in SA is mad about them, and they look pretty sick when cleaned up. Just a shame most of them are rust buckets these days.

Good to hear there are still people lurking lol. Hope everyone is going alright.

Cheers,
Ben

16 years of daily thrash driving, can’t complain about that!! Put Ruby Scoo to shame - she did about 12 years of solid daily driving with loads of off-roading in between after extensive mods. My gearbox is like your Gemini’s engine... but the engine is an off the shelf EJ22, nothing to sneeze at in that body though! Now she’s laid up waiting for exhaust repairs and for me to put her interior back in before a long overdue drive...

Cheers
