Hi, We've sent less prepared insects to the battlefield before, I have my doubts, but confidence remains the overwhelming factor. Cheers, Nik

Hi, Tried the Feral Brewing - Hop Hog last night. Very nice beer. Felt like a double pale, a bit light at around 6%, but I have a feeling that was a conservative estimate judging by my motor skills after two beers. Definitely a beer I could drink a lot more of quite happily. Not sure if it's gone to bottle though, so you foreigners might be SOL. Cheers, Nik

Unibroue Ephemere - Ale brewed with apple juice, corriander and curacao You can really smell the apple, almost sour (lambic) smell to it. Pitty it does not taste like it smells. Quite bland.. Almost like sparkling mineral water TBH. Give it a miss unless you really want to try it.

Hi,

Sounds terrible. Thanks for the heads up.

Had this last night;

Insanely good. Didn't hold as much of a smokey smell or taste than what I was expecting from the write ups I've encountered. Definite strong Whisky notes which, as you all know, I bloody love. Makes for such a complex beer, but I would have to describe the flavours as balanced. Unlike the Brew Dog 'Storm' that I had, which was just far too smokey and woodchipped for my personal taste - also flat as a pancake. I know it is meant to be a low carbonation brew, but no carbonation is a bit of stretch.

Cheers,
Nik

I'll keep my eye peeled. I like the pic of it I had an isle of arran on xmas eve, just as good as I remember from MDSC09. Like I said in the GT thread, totally hear you on the storm.

Hi, I've never had the standard, so I can't really comment on the difference. But this stuff is worth seeking out - I believe it is in very, very short numbers though - so you might be hard pressed. Expect to pay about $40/bottle. Cheers, Nik

I thought it (std) was pretty good, tho it did lack some "kick" as is only 4.6% or something. I remember thinkin when I was drinkin it that it needed more alc...
