Rye iPA's are awesome. Feral's is particularly good.

Will certainly try and track down the Feral Rye now.

Hi,

Posted Image

Drinking now. Nice. Not too overpowering with Christmas spices, as the label might warn! Nice brew.

Also, enjoyed the hell out a certain Vienna Red this afternoon! Thanks Bretto!!!

Cheers,
Nik

Was thinking more like actually at Feral, but yeah if Sail has it, it'd save you a drive.

@Nik - always a pleasure mate. Have to show you the brewhouse next time.

Sig worthy.

Holy shit! Just tried my homebrew after another two weeks conditioning. Next to no diacetyl, and just beautiful pine /citrus/ mango aromas with a hint of caramel from the malt. Super creamy long lasting head, which I attest to the 60gm of flakes oats I chucked into the grist.
Seriously I've paid good money for IPA's that I've enjoyed less.
Pity I only got 5 longnecks out of the batch.
Will be brewing this again very soon.

Sig worthy.

I want to go get some beer, but I can't decide what to get. I want ssomething light, and sessionable. Might just pick up a carton of oettinger and a mixed six pack of some more special ones.

Sig worthy.

Hi,

Wet hops are not dried.

HT.H

It's like the difference between dried apricot, and apricot.

DRY HOPPING though, is when you add hops to a fermenter, post boil, usually just before FG is struck.

Cheers,
Nik

Yep I was just reading that then.

So dry hopping is an actual brewing process, yes? I assume this isn't just using dry hops

More a part of fermentation than part of the brewing process. The brewing process is really extracting the sugars from the grain, boiling off the protein and bittering it for balance in the kettle.
Like Nik said dry hopping is done post boil. You literally add the hop pellets to the fermenter. We always take our dry hops addition out of the fermenter after 24 hours. Leaving them longer can produce some off flavours.

I found out where squires beers work really well. Session drinking. I had their golden ale in can last night. Very fresh flavour. Amarillo hops was very prominent.

Sig worthy.
