They had a firkin of low carbonated shepherds delight on the hand pump on Thursday/Friday. I liked it even more. They tap a special firkin every week. Usually a regular beer dry hopped with some different hop.

Sig worthy.

Oooooh LC next single batch is gonna be gewd! Had a taste today. It's not quite finished up ferment, and was yeastier than a prozzy with extra std's, but it looks like its going to be a beauty.

Sig worthy.

Would have also accepted; Yeastier than the Rockingham bus terminal.

Cheers,
Nik

Australian Brewery - The pilsner.

Pretty decent pils actually. American and NZ hybrid noble hops give it a subtle twist. Not as bright as I'd like a pilsner to be though.

I've also got a bottle of Gage Roads latest. "Abstinence" a chocolate Belgian dubbel. Heard good things about it.

Sig worthy.

Sampled a couple of beers at work today.

Brewdog Anarchy Alchemist triple IPA.
Green Flash West coast IPA
Brooklyn brewery East India pale Ale.

BD anarchy was oxidized as fook! 14% is way too big for it as well. Just wasn't balanced in any way. Which I guess is hard to do at 14%, but still.

Green flash was also oxidized, but not as bad. Pretty much sumed up the west coast IPA style though. Piney and resiny in your face hops, which I reckon would be awesome when fresh.

Brooklyn was more like a traditional English style IPA. Bit more hoppy though. The malt character screamed UK though.

Sig worthy.

Yeah that was 9.7%

Everyone I speak to about the big beers from the states pretty much says after being there you'll never drink it out of a bottle in Australia again. Just too old.

I want to try it, but I also want it because of the bottle/label, same with the Motorhead whiskey, I think its whiskey anyway.

They are shipping pre-orders of the Iron Maiden Trooper beer now... So it won't be too long before it starts becoming available :)

Yep, just got that update via book face. Hopefully it tastes OK.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I should just convert to single, right?

There is a big feature article in the latest Brewer and Distiller publication, about Robinsons brewery and the brewing of "Trooper". Apparently Bruce Dickinson is a bit of a beer nerd, and rather than just putting the Iron Maiden name to the beer, he actually had quite a bit to do with its development.

Sig worthy.

Ok Gage Roads Abstenance Chocolate Dubbel.

Pretty good actually. Although like many of the Gage Roads limited releases, I found it lacking body to really give it that Dubbel character. The chocolate is very prominent. More so on the finish than up front. The aroma smells like chico lollies. It was still good drinking, and Id recommend that if you come across it, give it a shot.

Sig worthy.

Went out shopping with the missus..

So I bought beer. ;)

'Lil Creatures Bright ale (tasty but not as good as their pale)

Four Wives Pilsner (about to knock the top off)

Fat Yak Pale Ale (I like this one)

Sleeping Giant IPA (Always seem to leave the shop with one)

Four Wives Pilsner (about to knock the top off)

I quite like this, I like all their beers.

Yeah Bright ale isn't a fav among our brewers. It's a bit of a marketing gig. When it was first released, maybe ten years ago, it was pretty good. Now it's just boring.
We've also got a new permanent beer on the way later this year.

Keep your eyes on Gage Roads kids. I'm tipping that there's going to be some good booze coming out of there in the not too distant future.
Our production brewer just left to take up the brewery managers position there. Sounds like he's got some plans.
Plus I also heard a rumour that one of Australia's biggest beer guru's is going to be heading up their lab a few days a week.

Sig worthy.

Really. What kind of awful? Faults or just shitty style execution.
