Any good roads out there on your cruise? I’m sure there’s some out there, I’m not up with everything out that way.

Some scenic back roads and little towns. Nothing overly twistie. It's just divided up flat farm land really

Yeah the fun roads are probably not suitable being either single lane with dirt shoulders to allow oncoming vehicles pass, or they’re dirt roads. Fun in the Pajero, not so fun in a lowered road hugger!

They’re easy roads to travel out there, can make long distance travel easier, but I bet commuters would get over it and its rough condition.

So where’s the first road trip planned for? Or is it mods first??

First road trip is planned for the end of May. Up to NSW for a night of camping with the OGs.

No major mods for a while. Trying to find a reasonably priced STi intercooler and some kind of cold air intake

Good to hear it's finally on the road Nick.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Just have to change the bulbs for the rings to whatever colour LED you want. Only hard part is LEDs having a polarity and the cluster having to go in and out 5x to get it right.

In other news had some time on the weekend to install a new intake. Using the intake pipe that came with the car, a 45 silicone bend, a 90 alloy bend into the guard then a Metal Flow HKS pod filter

Also re-ran the header tank hoses under the intake pipe so i could reinstall the intake scoop above the headlight

This promptly made the car not run as it completely forked the maf scaling. So Rob remoted in and did some keyboard magic and basically took 20% fuel out across the board. A few hot laps of the local freeway on ramps and it was back to running perfect and sounding awesome


Next on the list is an STi intercooler of sorts. Just have to find one first

Does the dash light dimming still work ok with the LEDs?

Yep. I got "nice" ones from jaycar with a resistor or some gubbins in them. Works fine

The Liberty sounds mint Barbs, looks like it pulls like a freight train too!

That’s it. I think the Australian Government flagged it and it was changed to Liberty. But either way, whatever the actual account the reason is still the same!
