Long time listeners have probably noticed my drivers side monsoon had a chunk missing. I assume at some point someone got out of the car holding the A pillar. Anywho Ben had a set for sale and after realising theyre stuck to the trim, not the body like a gen 2 I could finally be bothered to go and grab them off him lol
Much better. This has been bothering me a lot
A warm but overcast day meant it was finally to wash off the roadtrip muck
And finally installed the ZS splitter. I need to get my hands on a GDB duct but its better than nothing

Hope all is well. Was an awesome weekend to get out and about - or just be pottering around in the shed!
Cheers

Went for a cruise down to Apollo Bay. Beautiful day but water was freezing as it usually is.

An easier place to lift the tailgate from rather than under the garnish

Big wang arrived. Will be getting this one painted by a pro. Has some minor damage that needs to be fixed too. Crack along the leading edge and missing the top layer of whatever where its been slazzed to the car and pulled off
Also picked up a set of A-C optional aero skirts. Bit of a gamble how theyll go with the the D-E lip and such but they were cheap and already white. Im sure someone will buy them if I dont like the look. Container freight so in for the long game as usual

After having gold wheels for about 8 years i finally got sick of them enough to have a look at Yahoo and post my Rays for sale. The next day they were sold, and the day after I won the auction for these
BBS SRV made by BBS for Stern which is a Japanese company. The SRV stands for Super Remix Version which is outstanding
So currently the car looks like this for the next 2 months or so
As a result ive ordered some 2.5" steel mandrels to have a go at my own front mount kit. May as well while its sitting.
Im also waiting on a Import Monster quote on a D-E rear aero lip/bar

Similar but not quite. S401 wheels are 1 piece and no dish

The new rims will look sick with the white of the wagon!
Best of luck with the rear bar!

Cars gonna be on ice for a while so I ordered some 2.5" stainless bends to have a go at my own FMIC setup. Borrowed my brothers drop saw and holy fork it makes a difference in speed and cleaner cuts. Really should have gotten one earlier. I suspect this will be the easy part but im keen for the challenge

Unless you've lashed out and bought a tig welder. Those things are fun. Damned expensive for a good one, but fun none the less.
Be good to see it progress Nick.
Saw the photos in the chat earlier today. Should work pretty well.
Cheers,
Ben

This stuff is pretty nice 1.5mm wall. Welds nice with my shitty mig. I tried some random scrap that was blowing out instantly. Turns out it was proper thin wall junk
Last few nights ive been butchering the reo to turn it into a bumper support and mounts rather than any actual crash structure. Funnily enough theyre built like youre not meant to cut them up. Ended up drilling the spot welds out that hold the bumper mount out and chopping up the rest to get the mounts. Then welding the mount back on. I cant weld sheet metal for shit but it just has to be on there so a bunch of booger tacks will hold it on. Ended up about 10mm out but the bar still fits on so calling it good
Mocked up an intercooler i had lying around. Ill need to get a slightly shorter core to avoid it being VL spec. Found a 550x250x65 which should work perfectly
