Yes ive already planned to do that later in the year. Have a trip planned for June so after that. Assuming it doesnt cause issues in its current setup

And screamer pipe.
Would like more clearance to the dump pipe but that comes at a cost of clearance to the rubber steering knuckle so that wins. Theyre going to be bracketed together so should never move

Been a very busy bee working to get everything finalised and installed/tight. Havent taken many pics cos been doing 2-3 hours after work each night. All going pretty well. Forgot to tighten the PS hoses into the adaptors on the rack but thankfully can get a spanner in there with it all assembled and find the angles to get eyes on it and got that sorted.
Currently its sitting like this just letting gravity and time do its thing

Mad scramble to get shitz done paid off. Picked up Rob from the airport on friday night and after a quick feed he jumped on the laptop and flased on a new tune for the big injectors and Mafless tune. Got the coolant bled on friday night and was looking good.
Saturday morning we found some coolant leaks once we had the rad cap on and pressure in the system. The cap for the oil cooler had somehow came loose so welding gloves and point pliers got it re-seated and holding its drinks. Unfortunately the turbo feed fitting in the head is leaking. Assuming its cos i reused the crush washer as i always forget theyre M12 not M14. Its not leaking enough to cause an issue straight away with keeping an eye on the level. Got the wheels on, pumped up the tyres, installed the cooler piping and wired in the IAT sensor to the maf wiring. Set out to the servo for a fresh drink of 98 octane. Smoke pluming from all the oils and fluids burning off the piping and everything. No issues on the quick drive with Rob keeping an eye on the tune and giving some light load.
After some lunch we went back out given how well the first drive went for some "power" runs in Mexico. Only running wastegate pressure so the tune was very simple and we were done in maybe 30 mins. Boost comes on pretty strong around 4500 rpm and holds 12 psi forever. Its a 14 psi gate spring but with no control it creeps open which i knew would happen so no wukkas. Makes all the right noises and puts a huge smile on my face. First time seeing the new wheels and aero on the ground and in the sun. Absolutely love it
Youtube has a stupid new "shorts" feature that you cant override and the forum doesnt support so heres the video

Yeah nice. Not 100% sure whats happened but i assume there was some swarf hiding somewhere (which i did clean out all the pipes) and it said hello to the turbo. Still spins free but it does now touch the housing which i believe is due to the bent fins, not the other way around.
Current plan is to park it for a month lol and then probably a Pulsar Gen 2 3076 super core

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.
MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Probably looking at about $1000 all said and done. Had no clue it had happened, only noticed cos im chasing an oil leak from the oil drain which i suspect is the pipe fitting in the head. Glad i checked cos it was only going to get worse

Blowing the dust off this thread.
Cant remember if i mentioned it but i warped the vband for the gate inlet. So pulled everything out, cut the section out and forked it up lol. Cut too far down and cut into the bend rather than straight pipe. Couldnt just replace it with another straight section to go again. Awesome. All back together with a chunk missing, turbine housing bolted to dump and flange with the bracket semi locating everything and making the puzzle pieces to make it fit back together. Dont have any pics cos its not interesting but its all back together in more or less the same spot without a wastegate.
Have a new inlet flange to weld on etc and turbo getting sent off this coming weekend for a birthday
That is all

I think youve got your thinking about it backwards
GT[X]30 - Frame size (turbine size) Doesnt tell you anything really but 60mm inducer, 55mm exducer turbine wheel
76 - Compressor wheel OD
GT - cast 6 major and 6 half size blades
GTX Gen 1 - 11 blade billet
GTX Gen 2 - 9 blade billet
The GT[X] series turbine wheels didnt change from the early 90s right up until 2018 when Garrett finally retired them and moved to the G series stuff, although you can still buy the popular GT era stuff to this day (3076, 2871 etc)
So in this situation its a completely standard Garrett GTX 3076 Gen 2 CHRA with HKS turbine housing (no changes as the turbine wheels didnt change) and compressor housing (machined slightly as to fit the actually updated compressor wheel)
