New tyres fitted. Car absolutely needed the meatier 40 profile.
Took it for a quick spin through the nearest 5 turn twisty section and they are definitely sticky tyres. No rubbing when driving hard at least with an empty boot but they rub every so slightly on big loopy dips, so ive ordered some new bushes for the rear upper control arm. Camber adjustable outer and just a replacement poly bush for the inner. Will go into a gen 4 alloy arm when they arrive

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.
MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Camber bushes arrived. Was able to cobble some sockets and long bolt together to pull 2 of the bushes out. The other 2 were stuck fast and was twisting the bolts and pulling the threads out so had to get violent. Holesaw the rubber out then smash out the shell. Pain in the ass. Anyway quick tidy up with some scourer pads and slide in the new bushes
Also this painfully 90s boot mat arrived. I need to get some velcro to stick it to the seat backs. Currently those flaps are just tucked under

For future reference - I found heating bushes over a propane camping stove worked well to destroy the rubber enough to pull out easily.. then it was hack out the outer steel sleeve.
Is that two cargo blinds coming off the back of your seats?

Ive used a receip before. Does work well. I used my power file/finger sander to get inside and turn a piece of the shell into tin foil thickness then chisel it out with an old flatblade.

Spent the last few nights after work swapping over the rear arms. Decided while i was in there to install the STi control arms as well cos why not. The pillowball bearings using in the STi arms are narrower than the rubber bushes so need washers. When you buy them new they come with them but mine werent new so some investigation was required.
To cut a long story short the factory washers are M12x24mmx2mm. I found M12x37x2mm at the local Mitre10 and they also work fine.
To go with the rear camber i ordered some Whiteline camber bolts for the front to keep it even and nice. Ive used these before on the rear of BG and they worked fine. In true whiteline fashion they dont fit. A few back and forth emails with Prospeed racing which involved some stern words and sending them their own listing to get them to accept a return for an installed product that doesnt actually fit, but they came to the table eventually.
Was left with 2 other options for front camber, adjustable tops for the bilsteins or coilovers.
So did neither of those and yolo'd a nice looking set of Tein Flex Z from yahoo that wont arrive for months lol

Dropped the car off for an alignment on Saturday. Picked it up a few hours later having done the rear toe and not much else lol. I left the instructions and a punch (which you need to adjust the bushes) in the car, told the guy about the instructions but not the punch. Rang me up a few hours later saying i dont have a punch (bit odd for a workshop but whatever) so cant do the rear camber. My fault for not telling him and he didnt charge me so its whatever. Rebooked for Thursday when he can deal with over the day rather than on trying to get it done in a busy half day on saturday. The car is at least driveable now just with -3 on one side and -1.5 on the other.
Took it for another test drive with the passenger seat princess and it was still rubbing on the -3 side. Had a better look at everything and it has been rubbing on the lip of the guard rather than up inside so had to get the guards rolled. Put the call out to mates and borrowed a guard roller sunday morning and rolled the guards sunday afternoon. All went pretty well for my first go. Did crack the paint on the passenger side towards the front of the arch as its 2 or 3 layers and wasnt moving with the roller, so had to employ a hammer.. Its all on the inside lip so you cant see it so is what it is
Havent been for another test drive since i finished at 6pm at night but fingers crossed. I suspect its doing weird gen 3 suspenion things and rubbing at the front of the guard as i believe it all moves forward under compression.
Aside from that the car still drives smoothly with the poly and pillowball bushed arms and hasnt banged or clunked to indicate the pillowballs are flogged out so thats a win. When you huck it into a corner now once the weight transfers it just hooks in and goes. Very happy
