ej22 is nowhere near the motor the ej25 is, the ej22 is good for a couple things, reliability and fuel economy yes. power....no. ej22 will make nowhere near the power and torque of the equivalent modded ej25. definately throwing money into a black hole if you mod an ej22!!! or any N/A 4 banger !!

The current plan is to get a cheap ej25 package rebuild it while it outs (new gaskets and seals and rings depending how they look), this will ensure I have a trouble free engine. while the heads are off it'd be no trouble and relativly in expensive to get them ported and polished. Then it would be an exhuast, which I'd be aiming for a nice boxer note more then power :)

LOL Alex, EJ22's aren't economic. Common figure is 10-12/100, which is totally f**ked for a 90hp 4banga. Mark, if you're going to rebuild one. Seriously consider bumping the compression up a bit. 10.5:1???

If you're insinuating Honda's respond well to mods. You're an idiot.

na... i'm not insinuating anything...

it's obvious that unless you want the car to perform like a two stroke, there are limits to the power you can make from NA engines...

but still...

honda civic/jazz with a b18 or k24 would be pretty cool... but that's just me... i like revvy NA motors...

Jazz with proper Vtak motor dropped in? No, mum has a Jazz, its ****, like seriously ****. Type R JDM Civic with a B18CR in it, porn! Revvy motors are just fun is all. Rotors are gay when they j ust have a cat back or something, sound horrible!! but with some kind of porting, hawt! OT: Mark, EJ25 it, bit of head work would be cool, consider upping the ratio as Soop said, would be very different. Soop woud upping compression ratio affect fuel economy?

Probably wouldn't make a massive difference. I'm sure it does in some technical way. But sif anyone gives a sh!t. Dunno how much you could do to the heads on an NA EJ25. Standard Rotor > Ej20-t :D

How would you raise the comp ratio? Thinner head gasket?

If that standard rotarrrrr was a 20B......................:)

Just shave the heads. Would need higher octane fuel. Ford NA engines seem to have a fowkload of power. Talked to a guy with a BA xr6 pacemaker extractors hi flo cat and some bigger piping, k&N CAI dyno sheet said 180kw@w Still a ford though

Straight six 3.something litre though. As the saying goes "theres no replacement for displacement!' Plus pace makers give healthy gains. Can get 27rwkw if youve got a VY Clubbie.

They're four liters, and a very well designed motor. Any set of decent extractors will see gains of around 20-25rwkw on any 5.7ltr V8 when combined with an efficient exhaust system (2.5/3.0" twin system). The clubbies aren't really all that special. They have a slightly different tune, and different exhaust manifolds as standard. wewt... They look good though.

Back to my build! Should have some rs foggies and an rs bonnet here on the weekend :) That will complete the car execpt for a wing/spoiler. Few other cosmetics such as chrome door handles, legacy rear garnish ( the legacy one looks cooler, no im not gonna pass it of as a legacy, well to the noobs I will :P) jdm legacy tail lights, clear front indicator DIY. Got 4L of paint just need to prep everything up. Removing paint from the bumper is the bigest fricken b*tch! No clubbing, going to gigs etc is starting to pay off :)

2years after I get my greens which I've been able to get for a month now. Just gotta pay some bills/fines before I go for them. Thought about it but meh in 2years I'l be better employed and be able to do it properly. Rather then using some thrashed half dead rs driveline. Thinking an ej22t would be a good upgrade. Wanna get my current engine done before seriously thinking about building the next one. Do it once do it right...
