That's why I asked about the bridgestones :P I'm waiting for a quote from them, but they have rrp for the S001s at $259/cnr, pretty good since I remember paying $300+ for the RE050s

Anyone tried Bridgestone Potenza S001s? Top of the line bar the semis, and oem on Ferraris and Astons :sarcastic: Apparently the succesor to the RE050s, which I had on my old car and loved. Will be due for some new tyres soon so thinking about them. Currently have Dunlop Sportmaxx TT, they're ok but I think I preferred the bridgestones, hard as it is to tell given I had them on different cars.

I've got Bridgestone Potenza's, I just don't know exactly what they are. I'll take a look tomorrow morning nickknack and give a review of what I've found with them.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

It's worse when you get 2 flats at once due to nails or screws

Just had a look at them.

I have Bridgestone Potenza S001. I didn't know they were such a good tyre! Really happy with them though either way and I hope to stick with 'em.

Achilles aren't a great tyre.

Wouldn't recommend.

There's lots of mixed opinions on them, I have them and think they are fine for a non turbo daily driver.
Wouldn't call them a high performance tyre, they are a little loud aswell. Personally I like them though.

Bit of feedback on the Toyo Proxes. Wet weather grip a little lacking, not bad, but lacking compared to other tyres I've had. Good point - You can tell when they are about to let loose, they are very progressive, even in the wet. Dry grip is good, but havent had it through a hills run with them yet. Due to a distinct lack of them near home. Won't try and spin when I'm feeding it in 1st on dry bitumen like with the T1Rs.

So far pretty happy with them. Although at about 300 a corner from memory, could do better with something else. Road noise is a bit harsh, but I have no boot lining, so most tyres seem to make a fair bit of noise...

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

I've had Good year eagle F1 DS-G3s for the last year, they have excellent wet performance even when worn, almost 0 aquaplanning even through deep puddles/flooded side roads, replacing this year due to poor alignment caused wear on outer edges, but surprisingly they still handle great in the wet... I'm only in an 99 rx lib but I can literally drive as I would in dry conditions in the wet!
Replacing with Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 which is the current style after the DS G3, on sale 4 for the price if 3 for $620 including alignment :)

eBay has quite a few specials on tyres guys! Pretty sure they're all sales originating from Tempe Tyres.

Ok need an opinon on tyres.. I want to get them before the hunter cruise and wear them in little so want them in the next couple of weeks.

I can get the same Kumho KU39s from Tempe Tyres $190ea = $760 + 1/2 price wheel alignment

Bridgestone has a deal on atm buy 3 get 4th free on til 31 May...
http://www.bridgesto...r3/default.aspx

Ive got a quote from the Liverpool store
225/45R18 RE002 $268.00 each fitted, balanced, new rubber valve, tyre disposal and if you buy 3 this month you get the 4th for free. = $804

Ive emailed a few other places for the RE002 just waiting on reply

Do you all think I should stick with the Kumhos or go the Bridgys?

I would've thought the Bridgestone to be better in my personal opinion. Are RE002's better then S001's?

I would go with the RE002's. I bought some a few weeks ago and I think they are better than the Kuhmos I have had previously.

Jax Tyres had the cheapest price when I started looking but the Bridgestone store ending up beating them by about $10 a tyre.

Im worried that the RE002's (treadwear rating 220) would wear out quicker than the Kumhos (treadwear rating 280)

I was worried about that at first too but the guy at Bridgestone reckons some people get up to 35 000kms out of them
