I asked them about the 39s and they only have the 235s in at the moment.

Why are people talking about 452s?

They're totally crap and don't even deserve a mention, as a benchmark or anything.

So what are the options for you Morgs?

And I'll be buying a set of 225/45/17s in the not too distant future. ;)

Hi,

And Nik - no road noise on the KU39s.

But then again, our roads here are sealed, bitumen roads :)

True enough, bud! Roads out here would be pretty hard to compare. Though I have to say, wear is very good on the Khumo range.

Cheers,
Nik

Alex, after much discussion, the options were between the 39 and 27.

I reckon the KU27s are my best bet though as Tempe only stocks the 39 in 235 which are too wide.

225/45/18 95.

$170 a corner.

Win.

Organised for some Toyo Proxes 4 and a wheel alignment today. See how they go. 10 bucks each more than the T1 Sports. T1 Sports are a summer UHP tyre, whereas the Proxes 4 are an all season UHP.
Tread wear is better on the Proxes too. 240 for the T1 Sports, 300 for the Proxes 4. T1Rs were an excellent tyre, got about 30k out of them, with their wear rating at 280.

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Found some KU31 in my size (215/45/17) for $492.5 posted from St George. Can probably squeeze another 3-4K out of current tyres, but they really need replacing. Sailen Atrezzo ZS+ on fronts and FK452's on the rear that have got hard and over steer under heaving braking.
Reviews seem to be generous on the 31's so I thought I would just triple check with you fellas opinions?

Cheers Nik.

Dad just told me we used to have the 31's on our VX commodore and they were so noisy they got replaced before worn out. Can anyone else comment on this issue? A couple of reviews state they get noisy towards the end of the Tyre life, but not the majority.

Hi,

I would agree they do attract more road noise, but I have 245's and drive on pretty poor roads at high speeds.

I return to them because of the confidence I get from them in the wet.

Cheers,
Nik

I've been running the KU27s like Morgan for a while know and found them to be a good all round tire. Can't say the road noise is bad either.

Anyone tried Bridgestone Potenza S001s? Top of the line bar the semis, and oem on Ferraris and Astons :sarcastic: Apparently the succesor to the RE050s, which I had on my old car and loved. Will be due for some new tyres soon so thinking about them. Currently have Dunlop Sportmaxx TT, they're ok but I think I preferred the bridgestones, hard as it is to tell given I had them on different cars.
