I like mine, but mostly because I'm an old man so I like not having to put up with a 10000db exhaust all the time...

Its prob gonna be straight pipe from cat back for a few weeks regardless, until i can find a decent muffler.

Bit more progress today. Stripped the engine down to a block in preperation for rebuild. So far, got a new Timing belt kit, all gaskets, new water pump, all new pulleys, all new belts etc etc.

Sending the manifold off on Monday to get sandblasted, then powdercoated STi red.


Once i get the manifold back, i'm going to give the whole block a through degreasing, and maybe buff some of the alloy so it doesn't have that white shit all over it. I might paint a few bits and pieces, then i'll start reassebling the engine, then i'm pretty much good to go bar a walbro and a 3" cat.

So I just spent over 3.5 hours thoroughly cleaning, and degreasing an assortment of engine parts in preparation for painting.

I've done so far,

Power steering pump
Air box
Brake master cylinder
Alternator (Still needs a bit of dremeling to buff the alloy)
Air-conditioning compressor (Again, still needs some dremeling to buff the alloy)
Coolant Resovior.
Miscellaneous air intake pipes and power steering/fuel lines.

Plan is, during the week, to go over some of the parts with some VHT black, to make it all schmick.
I'm also going to be rewiring the engine wiring (Injector wiring, TPS wiring, etc) to make it all color coded, and so it's not going to be seen from the outside so easily.

All the parts are clean, wrapped in cling wrap and ready to roll.

I'll chuck some pics up during the week as I progress.

Yeah. Most everything will be going black, with the exception of the manifold, which will retain factory red.

Any other colors = teh gay.

Also, does anyone know where i can get a Walbro In Tank fitting kit for a 2000 Lib Wagon?
I heard that the wagon kits are different to the sedan kits, but unsure of the truth on the matter.

Hey All,

Bit more prgress. Dropped the manifold in for sandblasting today. Should be reeady for painting tomorrow.
Also, Al has sent the loom back to me today (FINALLY!, after my stupid card problems) so i should recieve that this week sometime.

Still on the lookout for a 3" cat, and a fuel pump. Then i'm good to go.

Yeah, i'll be giving it a few coats of STi red on the weekend. I'm actually about to go buy a dremel and just give the inside of the manifold a once over, and smoothen out any burs and metal shit leftovers.
