Nah never got the headers. Mark sold them though.

Something burnt out in my central locking control box. Haven't had a chance to buy a new one yet

You can not just buy another one, Because the dome light/ central locking module is also a part of the key unlock frequency...

I've been speaking to a guy on rexnet who had the EXACT same issue on his B4. He just went to the wreckers and bought one with the same numbers on it, plugged it in and it worked fine?

Did you ever get to try that set of UEL headers on your car Morgz? I won a set off eBay but im not sure if i want to pay the $250 or so and it be a disappointment...

The aftermarket UEL ones will fit. Aslong as they look like the ones i PM'd you about. Bobbyjimmy has them on his outback...

If you mean the Gen1 ones their in my shed doing nothing, i'm not keen on pulling other peoples car's apart to see if they fit. But im more then happy for someone to borrow them and try it.

If the gen 1 headers are a confirmed fit I would be happy to take them off you. As long as they will give me the boxer rumble I'm after, and the price is right. :)

I went for the same thing it didn't work. maybe he got the transponder out of the key which i didn't have. But ive since then repaired the problem in mine i have dome light but it doesn't fade out. Just works like a normal car open door light close door light off.

Their not gonna give you an as good rumble as the ebay UEL headers will. I was running the exact muffler on my gen1, it had slightly more rumble then my impreza did, until i put the ebay UEL headers in. I personally wouldn't bother with the gen1 headers unless you got given some. Even then it's still a fcuk around. If you really are after the note then don't spend so much on LED's save a few weeks and buy some.

I reckon I've spent about $25 total on all the LEDs I've ever bought.
I've purchased a set from the states for about $230 shipped so should be expecting them in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully not too long...

Everyone stop giving me **** about LEDs dagnabbit!

Thanks mate. I enjoy doing them.

A mods a mod, whether it be changing your head unit, turbocharging, LED mods etc, they're all modifications. If you don't like some of them tough luck!

DIY short shifter install today. Got a hot rod welder to make me up a custom short shifter. Cost $30.
All he did was cut an inch out underneath the thread, weld the gap together, and then put the extra piece in between the pivot point and the ball at the bottom. Works exceptionally well.
It has decreased the shift movement by about half, if not more.
I suppose you could weld it yourself but I don't have a welder, nor have I ever done any welding, so I left it to a pro.
Also could have just bought one off eBay. But I like mine better.

I built a short shifter, does that count towards a build thread?

Cheers
Sam

Thanks mate.

I don't really have any pictures as I didn't do it. But i saw this DIY on some of the other Subaru clubs.
It does sit a little lower as I got the welder to take about 2cm extra off the top, I think it sits pretty good. And it feels great!
$30 well spent...

Guys just wondering. I was offered a genuine gt-b (apparently) front strut brace for my outback for $50.
Is it worth the $50? What will it improve? (if anything?)

Also. For sale: pioneer head unit double din. FH-P6050UB
Make an offer. Am upgrading to DVD player. Clarion....

You'll notice it at the start but after a few days of driving you won't notice much difference.

For $50, get it :)
