Is that re done through like a leather upholsterer or just a replacement of seats with leather ones? I had vinyl green and cream ones in my old civic! Still got them haha

Nah leather seats and door cards, leather gearshifter, park brake and steering whel. 1 was factory HSV, the other was a aftermarket piece.

haha green and cream....ergh, nah black cloth racing all the way for me.

Nick

edit: I'd go the whole set, like the black one aek said was available...it'll cost you, but leather is a real investment in a car. A big mod that impresses potential buyers in the future.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

not sure. give Patrick a call tomorrow. i actually spoke to him today and he also has a full black leather interior for gen 3 wagon (he reckons it from a gt/gt-b???) Office: 9755 7888 or mobile: 0415 505 856

Partrick's a knob jockey. Charges an arm and a leg for 2nd parts. He quoted me $100 for 1 tie rod end or $350 for the whole steering rack when all i wanted was the tie rod. I even mention that I was mates with you Aek.

Do you know what other models I can get seats that will be direct replacement from? Also I've been looking at short shifters but don't know which one to get to replace, not lookin to spend heaps but all the ones I can see are for wrx's, will these fit?

Seats from any model will fit.

He tried to charge me $50 for a bolt that Subaru sells new for $23.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

It's a boss audio amp, all it says is 4x200w. So guessing if I am to use this one then I bridge it to the sub? And I have the yellow-red wires. Just need to buy a battery cable, remote cable and fuse. If the amp IS actually dodgy and for some reason it dies on me... Is there any chance it will damage my head unit or car?

Cheers

If it says 4x200 then it will most likely be 4x50 RMS. Yes bridge the 2 rear channels and it should provide about 125-150w which will be fine. The amp has it's own fuse but as long as you also use an inline fuse in the power cable that connects to the battery then it won't damage anything should the amp fail.

Sweet I'll get onto it now. If I have the RCA cables, I only need battery cable with fuse, remote wire and ground wire plus the wires that go from the amp to the sub is that right? Wheres the best place to go through the firewall and where the best place to earth the amp? Should I have the amp in the back next to the sub? Or under the seat or something?
Cheers.. Sam

I Have my amp in the back and i hate it, it sorta lowers the function of a wagon, preferably id put it under the seat, but that also depends on the size of the amp, cos it could get kicked by passangers feet, which i think would only be annoying if the adjustments are the things getting kicked.

Ive earthed my amp to the body with a small self tapping button head screw, seems to work fine.

I mounted mine under the pass seat, used one of the seat rail bolts as a ground, ran all wires through centre console except the power from battery, that i ran from the batt, along the chassis rail, through the firewall by going in through where the AC drip hose is, through under carpet and to pass side kick panel and along under side sill and then out at B Pillar and under seat.
then for the sub i went back into the B pillar, along the door sill for the rear, under the rear seat and out into the boot. means if need be i just pull the banana plugs from the Sub and store it away when i need to use my boot.

all i have left is the 2pair for the sub which gets hidden under the boot mat.

Spot on with the cables Sam. There is a removable rubber bung in the firewall near the clutch master cylinder (on gen2 anyway) I run the bat cable through this, under the right side of the centre console, under the floor mat, under the rear seats and into the boot. The amp is screwed to the back of the sub box. The RCAs run the same path as the bat cable but down the left side of the centre console. Earth is on the centre bolt of the rear seat mounting bracket.

Hahaha Pat...

How much will he charge for that Sam? One million dollars probably :P

But jokes aside, Aek if you do chat to him again, reckon you could find out what Gen3 it is? If its black leather, its probably a Heritage or otherwise could be a GTB and I'm always on the hunt for parts.

I went and bought some dark blue brake caliper paint today. I got everything prepared and sprayed it on hoping it would come out dark... But no it had to come out sky blue... Looks really gay IMO. Is there a way to spray over it in just gloss black or do I have to buy a new can of paint to do it black?
Also installed the battery cables, the RCA and remote cables for my amplifier, just need to find earth. But where??? I took the spare wheel out and the foam inserts but there is no where to attach the earth cable.

Cheers

Sucks about the calipers. You'll have to spray over it with high temp paint otherwise it will run...

The ground can go anywhere. I attached mine to a bolt that holds the back seats down in my Lib. Anything that touches that chassis can be used as the ground

Filling the holes professionally will cost ~$100 I'm guessing?

You can't get a badge like that for less than $15. US$ is awesome at the moment so it'll be roughly the same price as advertised...

Yeah that is real cheap for the badge. Plus $15 for postage.
How hard would it be to DIY the holes??

Hard.
Sand it all back.
Fill it.
Prime it.
Paint it - with the right colour.
Blend it.

Oh yea it has to be shipped to Aus :P
But still <$30 is incredibly cheap!
This badge direct from Subaru is $50

Don't DIY the holes. Badge it up or get it done professionally.
