Depends on drivers age, typr of car, etc.
It's about $900 for me at the moment...
I was kinda exaggerating in my previous post though

Mind you, I am in remote areas, so the rego is cheaper. Not sure how much the Adelaide boys pay. I think its somewhere round the 600 mark for a 4 cyl.
Cheers,
Ben
MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.
MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

All i used was: -a flat headed screwdriver
-blue enamel paint
-3m automotive adhesive
-either sandpaper or steel wool
-and aluminium foil and wood glue to try to match the mirror chrome and save myself some bucks trying to find mirror chrome paint
I think it turned out really well, it was very inexpensive as i already had the paint and sandpaper, all i had to do was buy the double sided automotive paint which might come in handy another time.
Took around about half an hour to prepare and paint and i let it dry for an hour, then stuck it on.
Here are some after shots...

I think it looks a bit unique and not too tacky...now what to do with the rest of the can of paint???

Yeah well it's better than being a circus! I don't want to do silly coloring, but yeh it looks good...
I like it.

Isn't the original badge the same colour anyway? Haha

Oh yeh its a very dark blue. My eyes deceived me, it looks black until close up.
So whats next for it Sam?
I've been looking at some other Subaru sites and was a bit interested in maybe painting the interior to a darker colour, maybe matte black or something?
I put the blue LEDs into the hvac unit(still waiting on the gauge light LEDs) but they are not all that bright and make spots. I think I need more intense LEDs???
When it dries up I'm definitely taking the wheels off and painting the calipers maybe a dark blue or black.
I'll be taking off the crappy autobarn chrome letters off the rear of the car and filling the two holes in the back, might do that tomorrow.
Replacing all interior halogen globes with white LEDs, and then cig lighter ring and key ring light to blue.
I also really want to look further into a short shifter.... Do I get a cheap one from eBay? Or where do I get a decent one?
These are just some things that won't cost too much money, and that I can do myself. Maybe not the short shifter but the rest...
Any other suggestions??
Cheers

Mine is a no name brand but it works well. Kartboy, Ultrex and a few other mobs make them too.

I've got a short shifter in mine and I did it myself. There's a DIY up here somewhere...

Ok sweet do you know if any old short shifter will fit or does it have to be gen3 specific? Is it much of a change?
Anyone selling a short shifter???
