Why's that?

Im in a pretty good mood actually, considering I was kept awake by a barking dog, for what felt like hours!

I wish the owners would take some responsibility. Or is this the norm in suburbia?

Morning GT.

Stupid Hard Drives failing all over the place. "But what about my data" "I'm afraid the hard drive is too far gone... there is nothing we can do for it"
Happens so often i try to make it funny to me. Also "data" is a word used so often that im 100% sure they don't know what they are talking about :P

Only harder thing to do is to get them to tell you WHAT data they want saved... The answer is not allowed to be "All of it" lol.
"If the hard drive is on the brink of death and i only have a few minutes before it completely falls over, what do you want saved first?"

It makes me laugh... then cry... then laugh again.

Weak turbo, mate. Doesn't take punishment in my experience (know of three well treated VF35s that all died fairly quickly)

You seem to find it funny that there are people out there, like me, who aren't massively competent using a computer for much outside of emails and using programs.

Riddle me this, if everybody knew as much as you, you would never, ever have a customer. People aren't stupid for not knowing as much as you about a specific subject.

So will you be putting a bigger better one on there?

Knowledge of how to use a computer is not the issue. Knowing where your critical business files are located is.

Perhaps instead of being a complete arse hat about it, you could just calmly ask the person that is paying you, how they would normally open their critical files.

My father still types with two fingers, and if I call him now and ask him where on the drive our bankbal.xls is, he will have no idea. If I ask him how he gets into it, starting from the desktop screen, he'll be able to tell me the routine he uses to open said critical file.

Young people use computers very differently.

Trawling through a hard drive while its on its last legs is the last thing you want to be doing.
Pro tip for all of yall, Make note where your important files are located, makes our jobs and your lives much easier.
