Gents,

As you are aware, Ben has bought my STi Lib Wagon, and it is time to move on to shitter and slower things.

I introduce to you my TuRD Racing KE70 Corolla! Pickup of the car is scheduled for 12pm Sunday from Newcastle.
The gentlemen I am buying it off is a shade under 60, and bought the car brand new, off the showroom floor back in 1983. It has been garaged all its life, and driven to and from the shops. It has 200,000kms which works out to be around 6800kms a year! Comes with original log books, and a full service history. It has had a bit of rust in the past, but the gentlemen I am purchasing off actually took it to a shop, got the rust cut out, and new metal welded in.

So, for those who are less familiar with the Toyota brand, this car comes with a powerhouse 1.3L carby motor, and and equally awesome 4 speed manual combo.

Current Plans for the car are as follows:

- Get car home from Newcastle without dieing
- Full wash, claybar, polish and wax
- Interior Shampoo + Steam Cleaning
- Engine bay degrease + pulling out parts and repainting BLACK.
- General Maintenence bits and piece
- Full oil change, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter
- Inspect Rust (If any) and attend to accordingly
- Repaint front and rear bars black (Current faded look doesn't appeal to me at all)
- Replace in dash clock, with a speco RPM tacho. (Going to be moulded in from behind for a factory look)

Once the above is done, I have some new suspension parts and wheels coming. Parts include the following.

- Koni Adjustable Shocks Front and Rear
- Lowered H/D Springs with 8kg front, 6kg rear spring rates
- AE86 Power Steering Arms
- XT130 Lower Control Arms (Instantly adds about 3 degrees of neg camber)
- A set of Rota Shakotans in 15x8 +0 offset config, wrapped with 195/45/15 rubber.
- Fender Mirrors
- Venetian rear shade
- LKA80S number plates.
- 20mm Front whiteline swaybar, 18mm rear whiteline swaybar.
- All steering bushes and suspension bushes to be replaced with Superpro nolathane.

Once the suspension is sorted, I will look into engine gearbox conversions. There is absolutley no plans for turbocharging this car. At the moment, i'm looking at building a high revving N/A 4AGE (Unsure of 20V or 16V yet) with high compresion, big life cams, and a fully ported and polished head. Looking at a rev range power band between 5k - 10k. Obviously, and upgraded 5 speed is required, which, luckily for me, can be had for about $300 for a Sprinter T50 gearbox. I have already purchased an AE71 Crossmember (Again, for those that don't know Toyota stuff, this is a Jap KE crossmember, that bolts in, and allows a 4AGE motor to be bolted in the engine bay, with no modification required). An AE71 tailshaft is also on the list, and an upgraded rear diff is also on the way, with a Kaaz 2way LSD.

This car is going to be a daily driver to and from work, and will be smashing corners siodeways out at Eastern Creek drift days in no time.

Will update thread on Sunday once car has been collected.

Cheers,
Shazza

AWESOME!!!

I had a feeling it might be an old school 'yota you were buying :). Can't wait to see it sideways at the twilight drifts!
Nice find too, there wouldn't be too many unmolested examples like this around...whereabouts in Newy are you picking it up from?

Yeah it seems very straight to me from the pics. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on Sunday.

Will be a shame if it smacks into a wall, but oh well.

Also, just going to add, that a replacement motor for these cars are about $40. Panels are around $50.

PARTS ARE SOOOO CHEAP!

Nice find, Shaz. My new place is right near Hetherbrae if you have any issues with the 'rolla and the shed will be empty for a few weeks (when I move in). Mother refuses to park in it already, silly woman.

Can't wait for the updates to start, goodluck!

Shaz will quit smoking when Rendawg loses his virginity.

It was nice knowing you shazza.
