Looks damned clean Shaz! Should have gone for an AE71 so you didn't need to change crossmembers and what not to get the 4A in there. If you're thinking of a conversion anyway, 3SGTE?

Get some nice fat tyres on there with some fender mirrors and it'll look absolutely hawt. What's the KE70 come with? 4K?

Here's my girlfriends KE35 daily:

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

Hey Xon,

Stocko 4K mate. I was originally looking for an AE71, but everyone I found was already modded, or has stupid amounts of rust. This thing is an absolute steal for $1500.

I've got an AE71 Xmember on the way already ($100) so swapping it over isn't really too much of an issue. It looks all straightforward as far as I can tell.

As for the 3SGTE, I don't really want to turbo this one. I had a look at a 3SGE Beams motor and 6 speed, but it isn't an easy swap, and I don't particularly want to drop thousands into this.

Much prefer a nice high comp n/a monster instead.

Cheers,
Shazza

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Cheers Matt.

Got one of those lined up as well. Just waiting on confirmation. Also ae71 slave cylinder and a few other e71 bits.

Mate, you're welcome to come and have a pedal of it if you want to try it before you go hunting for a KE daily. :-)

$1500?! Where the fork did you find it? That's a steal! What's the rust situation like?

All the major rust in the rear guards, an below the taillights has been cut out, and rewelded, and repainted. Apparently there is a little bit of surface rust, but that's an easy fix.

I was browsing a Toyota forum just looking and saw it got posted up the moment it was done. So I called the dude less then 10mins after he posted it, and whacked a deposit on it.

Score.

Cheers,
Shazza

Damn, what a steal. The KE35 cost us about $4000, but it's got disc brakes front and rear, bilstein shocks in the back, and had just had a fresh 4k motor with 3k head put in with a 5 speed, so it drives pretty well.

Best advice I can offer: find a better Posted Image'ing gearbox. The ratios in the 4/5 speed seem to be best suited for eating spaghetti.

Oh good stuff man.

I'll definitely be converting to a disc brake rear end once I research what diff I can use. I think R31 skyline rear ends can be fitted with limited hassle. Then get a hydraulic handbrake setup put in.

Yeah, will definitely also be upgrading to a T50. They can be had well cheap.

I was contemplating putting in a mild 5K (Since its literally a 5bolt swap) but for what I want, it makes sense converting to EFI. The beauty of these is that the conversion from carby to EFI is so simple.

Cheers,
Shazza

I think the 5k had a bit more displacement, so it'd probably be a bit of an upgrade, but the K motors are just so whimpy. I'd love to put a 4a in the thing, but I think the girly would give me a good beating for it since it's her car.

The one thing that blows me away with toyotas is how bloody cheap everything is. You can get a decent AE111 or similar halfcut for like $1200, and boom you've got yourself a conversion. Makes me seriously consider selling the Liberty and finding a nice hachiroku...

lol, I like how there is a clock where the tacho should be. Timed it 0-100 yet? The colour coding over 100 suggests its a bad thing to be going that fast.

Yeah. For under $5k, I could have a 4AGZE powered corolla, that weights only 800kgs. And I know it'd be done right too, coz I'd do it myself.

Yeah, I'm not so sure it will do 100kmh at the moment. I suppose I'll find out Sunday on the trip back from Newy. You can buy KE70 tacho dashes out of the CSX model, but I have a speco rev tacho with an internal shift light that looks very similarly sized, so I'll pull the dash out, remove the clock, and try and mould the tacho into the dash. I reckon it will look tops. If it works, I'll pull the rest of the dials out and redo them to match the correct font and color of the tacho

Cheers,
Shazza
